The now 13-0, No. 6 ranked, Florida Gators continued their immaculate run in pre-conference play with a dominant 85-45 win over Stetson. The UF backcourt continues to be dominant as the trio of Will Richard, Walter Clayton Jr., and Alijah Martin combined to outscore Stetson themselves.

IT WAS OVER WHEN: The beginning of the second half saw Florida run away with it. Florida went on a quick 6-0 run and the momentum carried on from there. With Clayton Jr., Martin, and Richard controlling the court, Stetson never looked like they were capable of mounting any kind of comeback.
THEY STOLE THE SHOW: Alijah Martin and the Florida back court put together a great game. Martin led the team with 18 points, Richard followed closely behind with 17, and Clayton Jr. added 12. An all around dominant performance from the Florida guards.
THESE STATS DON’T LIE: Martin, Richard, and Clayton Jr would’ve beaten Stetson if only their points were counted (47-45). Florida shot 51% from the field. Sam Alexis had a game-high 12 rebounds and Florida outrebounded Stetson by 13.
THIS MATCHUP PROVED KEY: Mekhi Ellison and Will Richard went at it all afternoon. Richard finished with two more points, but Ellison was giving him trouble. There was some competitive guard play going on between the two and both players didn’t disappoint.
WHAT A PLAY: The freshman, Isaiah Brown, performed a two-handed windmill to put the nail in the coffin against Stetson. A cool moment for the freshman.
UP NEXT: Florida (13-0) takes a trip north to Lexington to take on the University of Kentucky (10-2) on Saturday, January 4. Tip-off is at 11:00 a.m. for the first game in conference play for the Gators.
