Inside the Gators asked Florida commitments and targets for their thoughts on the Gators’ 48-20 win over Kentucky. Find out what 17 targets, including four-star commits Vernell Brown III and Jalen Wiggins, and targets Jahari Medlock and Kaylib Singleton as well as others, thought of the game.
- 2026 wide receiver target Devonte Anderson
It was a great game. Probably one of the best games I’ve seen them play! They played together as a unit and dominated on defense and offense. It was just a great game overall.
- 2025 four-star receiver commit Vernell Brown III
I think it was a really good game. I saw a few plays here and there but didn’t get to see too much because my Homecoming was last night, but it was a great win!
- 2025 three-star official visitor Jahari Medlock
It was a total show. Me and my dad were at a loss for words. Florida stands pretty high.
- 2025 three-star defensive back target Kaylib Singleton
It was a perfect win.
- 2025 three-star offensive lineman Daniel Davis
Overall the win was great. From the fans, alumni, traditions, and coaches everything was great. It really felt like home and I’m going to try and set up one [official visit] for Ole Miss week.
- 2026 four-star receiver Somourian Wingo Jr.
I loved it. It’s always great to watch the Gators put on a show. Whether I’m watching there or from home, I love to see them win!
- 2027 linebacker Joshua Echols
I thought the atmosphere was electric. Being in the Swamp for a night game will be something I will remember for a long time. The crowd definitely fueled the Gators. An awesome home-field advantage! The Gators came out ready to play. They took control of the game early. I loved the way the defense was flying around making plays. During the game I found myself dreaming about wearing the Gator uniform and flying around making plays. Great game. Great win. I can’t wait to get back on campus.

I thought it was awesome. A great game atmosphere. The team looked really good.
- 2027 defensive back target Bryce Williams
It was a great game, I loved how they were communicating on defense, and the swamp has an amazing atmosphere.
- 2027 offensive line target Bryce Daniels
I wasn’t at the game, but I believe it was one of the best games that the Gators have played this year.
- 2026 four-star tight end target Camden Jensen
It was great. An amazing atmosphere and staff. The win was awesome to see. I think people really doubted this Florida team when they’re a really good team. They’re definitely top three on my board.
- 2026 three-star offensive line target Mike Ionata
They played the way they can and dominated. I love it and it’s great to see guys with such bright futures.
- 2025 four-star defensive line commit Jalen Wiggins
I think it was a great performance. Both sides of the ball dominated and helped get the win.
- 2025 athlete Ashton Arnett
Honestly, it was pretty impressive to see true freshman DJ Lagway step in there and give the Gators’ fans a needed sigh of relief. Other than that, I love what Coach [Billy] Gonzales is doing with the receivers. He tries to get his players in space and let them work!

I think they played a great game. The defense had a lot of energy and played together from the 1st to the 4th quarter and the offense clicked very well with Jadan [Baugh] and DJ [Lagway] contributing well as freshmen, and they definitely lived up to the expectations.
- 2026 offensive lineman JJ Sparks
It was a great game! The offensive line has really gelled together and the running game was dominant and DJ [Lagway] and the passing game were explosive. The defense has been playing good ball since the UCF game and I’m looking forward to watching the team down the stretch!
- 2028 defensive end Asher Ghioto
I thought it was amazing. After [Graham] Mertz went down I was excited to see what DJ Lagway had in store for the Gators and he did not disappoint. The Gators are definitely very high up on my list and continue to get higher.
