Inside the Gators asked Florida commitments and targets for their thoughts on the Gators’ 41-17 loss to No. 19 Miami. Find out what a dozen visitors, including commit Joseph Mbatchou, four-star tagets Kaiden Hall, and Izayia Williams, as well as others, thought of the game.

  • Four-star 2026 offensive lineman Da’Ron Parks

I didn’t have a chance to speak with them, but they texted me after and told me they were glad I came. I had a good day, the atmosphere was really good, and the offensive line played well. I still feel like Florida has a lot of potential, and they can be good. They just have a really rough schedule.

  • Four-star 2026 linebacker Izayia Williams

None of the coaches talked to me before or after the game. It was a good game and when number 6 [Shemar James] got that pick. I didn’t have any bad thoughts about it really.

  • Three-star 2026 defensive lineman James Morrow

The coaches were super nice. They found me in the crowd and said that they were glad that I made it down to the game. The day was hot, but the hospitality was great. It was just the first game, I think they can turn it around.

  • Three-star 2025 defensive line commit Joseph Mbatchou

Honestly, I don’t have anything that good to say, but I loved the Florida crowd and the energy.

  • Four-star 2026 offensive lineman Chancellor Barclay

The Florida coach greeted me and of course said what’s up, excited for the game. Miami just wanted it more, the crowd at Florida just wasn’t giving off that home game vibe this game, and Florida at the start was fighting but then fell off starting at the end of the second quarter. This is just one game, I’m sure they’ll be able to improve from this.

  • Four-star 2026 defensive lineman Elijah Golden

I didn’t get to speak to the coaches! The atmosphere was very loud and intense!! The highlight was I saw a Miami player at end do a nasty spin move on someone from Florida. I really didn’t have any thoughts after they [Florida] lost.

  • Four-star 2026 cornerback J’Vari Flowers

Overall everything was good, I loved the atmosphere there and the players that played my position were playing good weren’t a lot of mistakes made. They didn’t have the game they wanted to have they just have a lot to work on as a team, I felt as they didn’t expect Miami to come out and play like that. It was good seeing that they [Miami] have a quarterback to lead the team in the right direction.

  • 2025 three-star quarterback target Ryan Huff (Old Dominion commit)

I got a chance to speak with coach [Ryan] O’Hara and he had great things to say. He talked with me and my dad about future plans. Overall I thought Florida had a great atmosphere and they showed me a great time. End result of the game sucks, but still think Florida can trend in the right direction.

  • 2027 running back target Tranard Roberts

I didn’t really see too much running back action involving big plays overall but they still have good running backs overall, and I still think that their fans are one of the best fan bases out there. I feel like they got beat up front from the offensive line and from the defensive backs defensively.

  • Four-star 2026 offensive lineman Canon Pickett

I didn’t have a chance to speak with any coaches. I liked the environment in the Swamp though and how loud it gets. Florida hasn’t moved any lower on my board because of the loss.

  • 2028 defensive line target Asher Ghioto

I talked to Coach P [Mike Peterson] and Coach [Loius] McCleod. They were excited to see me and checking in to see how I was doing and playing. I had a great day! The atmosphere was electric and it was really cool to watch the coaches work with the team before the game. I know the defense struggled, but I still enjoyed watching the defensive line work. Jack Plyburn went to my school, and I thought he played physical and made some plays. That was a tough loss for Florida. I really like the coaches and hope they can make some adjustments for the next games.

  • Four-star 2026 safety Kaiden Hall

I got to speak with Coach [Walt] Harris a little bit before the game and we were just talking about relationship building and getting to know more about him. I was really just shocked about the final score, but I feel like Jordan Castell played really good, making great plays on the ball and I was just watching him most of the game. Everything is still the same with Florida right now just ready to see how they bounce back and respond next week.

  1. Our coaches must have been pissed off they lost that's why they didn't talk to any of their recruits.

They needed to be talking to them and telling them that we're gonna get better not just let them leave thinking Miami is the greatest thing.
