Fairburn (Fa.) Langston Hughes four-star offensive lineman Tavaris Dice is no stranger to Gainesville, visiting UF last spring and summer. On Saturday the 6-foot-6, 280-pounder returned to campus for the Gators’ third Jr. Day of the spring.

QUICK Q&A

What was the highlight of your visit today?
“The highlight of my visit today was seeing their crazy culture. You can tell that everything is about family. Besides all the football stuff, the whole coaching staff is going to be there for you at all times.”

Which coaches did you speak with the most, and what did they have to say to you?
“I spoke to most of the coaches, but I talked to Coach [Billy] Napier and both of the offensive line coaches [Rob Sale and Darnell Stapleton] the most. Their main message was there’s no reason I shouldn’t get in enough work. With all these offensive line coaches they have here, if you’re not getting in enough work, you’re just being lazy. That’s a big thing for me, the way they focus on development.”

Is there anything new you learned about the Gators today that you didn’t know before? If so, what?
“All of the offensive line coaches are really there as a support system for their players.”

What is the most impressive thing you saw either on a tour of the campus or during one of the presentations? What really stood out?
“Something that really stood out is how calm and collected Coach [Billy] Napier is at all times. A lot of these coaches nowadays are electric, so it was cool to see how calm and collected he is at all times.”

How do you feel about Florida after visiting today?
“I feel that Florida is a top-five team for me right now in my recruitment.”

It’s still early for you, but do you have any leaders or a leaderboard?
“The leaders I have on my leaderboard, I would say Auburn right now for sure. They’ve been good to me for a minute.”

Did you get a chance to speak with any of the players, if so, who and what did they say to you?
“I didn’t speak to any of the players personally, but they had a little player board and it was good to hear some of the things they had to say about the school and them being younger guys, they answered a lot of questions that I needed to know.”

What other visits do you have coming up in the next month or so?
“I’m still trying to find out my visit schedule. I know I’ll be at Auburn on the third [2/3]. I’ll finally visit there with my family.”

Dice is the No. 290 rated prospect in the nation according to the On3 Consensus.
