Under Billy Napier Florida has tilted toward recruiting larger linemen, and 6-foot-7, 340-pound Laurel (Ms.) offensive tackle Tyler Miller fits the bill.
On Thursday, Florida joined Auburn, Mississippi, and Mississippi State in extending an offer.

Did you have a favorite college team (or player) growing up?
“My favorite team was Alabama when I was younger. I just saw the dominance Nick Saban has there.”
Out of your early offers is there one or two that really caught your attention? A ‘wow’ moment?
“Out of my offers that really ‘wowed’ me was the recent Florida offer and the Auburn offer.”
How did the Florida offer come about? Who did you communicate with and what did they have to say to you?
“The Florida offer came by Coach [Rob] Sale on the phone. Coach Sale really just explained to me how he was excited about our future relationship and my future in Florida.”
What are your early impressions of Florida?
“My early impression of Florida is that it is iconic if that can be given as an impression.”
What were a couple of your favorite visits?
“I haven’t really visited any campus yet, I’ve just been to camps.”
Do you have any plans to see any schools for a game this fall?
“I plan to see games this year for everybody that offered me.”
Will you make a trip to Florida?
“Yes. I want to come to the Tennessee game.”
It’s still early, but do you have any leaders or are there a couple of programs that you know will be there until the very end for whatever reason?
“I know Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Florida, and Auburn will be there to the very end because those are the four that made me feel at home. I’ve been to Ole Miss and Mississippi State for camps, and after they showed me around the campus. Auburn and Florida, it’s really the way the coaches keep communicating and checking on me that makes me feel at home.”
What’s going to be important to you when you make your choice?
“When I make my choice, the most important thing to me is commitment and feeling at home.”
