After committing to Tulane earlier this month Jeanerette (La.) Senior three-star tight end Traville Frederick Jr. received offers from both Alabama and Florida.

Those two offers have the 6-foot-4, 240-pounder considering taking a closer look at the two programs.

QUICK Q&A

Did you have a favorite college team, or player, growing up? “I never really had a favorite player growing up, but I do now. Travis Kelce is a real inspiration to me with how he plays the position.”

You have some impressive early offers, but is there one or two that really caught your attention? A ‘wow’ moment? “The one that caught me by surprise is Alabama. I did not know that Coach [Nick] Saban was going to offer that weekend, but I was really excited to earn that offer.”

How did the Florida offer come about? “I was in contact with Coach Corey [Raymond] and Coach [Chad] Lucas for about two weeks prior to getting offered. I spoke with coach Corey earlier today and he told me that I have a lot of upside and that I have the ability to play at a high level. He also told me just to keep working and I can do whatever I want in life.”

What is your initial impression of Florida? “My thoughts on the Gators are high, but I will have to take a visit to see what Gainesville is really about.”

What are some of the college campus visits that were your favorites? “Some of the college visits that were my favorites were to Tulane, Bama, and North Texas.”

Are any other visits coming up that you know of? “Yes Sir, I do have plans to visit some schools over the summer such as Tulane, Bama, Florida, North Texas, Oregon, and some others.”

Do you know when you’ll make it to Florida? “Yes Sir, I do have plans of making it to Florida real soon but I haven’t got the date yet.”

You’re committed to Tulane, but what percentage would you put on that? And are you still actively looking at other programs?? “So, Tulane is at the top of my list right now. My thoughts are all over the place, so I would have to think more about that. Yes Sir, I am still looking at other programs. Every opportunity counts, so I would never turn down an opportunity to play at the next level.”

Frederick Jr. is the No. 885 ranked prospect in the nation according to the On3 Consensus.
