Inside the Gators: Mock Signing Class 6.0

The biggest question on the mind of those who follow recruiting religiously is what will Florida's final class look like?

How will it all shake out?

The truth is, no one knows for sure.

Not Dan Mullen, not his staff, not you and to be clear, neither do I. There are too many variables in play. Multiple prospects, injuries, transfers, wins, losses new hires, new firings, etc...

You name it, and it could cause a prospect to look at a program differently – which in turn could throw everything into turmoil.

Not sure how I feel about this class.....assuming you are correct, here is how I would grade it...

Quarterback = B
  • I get that we got our "elite" recruit last cycle, but given that we have a bunch of square pegs in round holes, I would have liked to of seen 2 this cycle (or last)
  • You can get away with this if EJ works out and/or you give yourself another year with Bryant (transfer).

Running Back = B
  • With Davis getting a red-shirt and Pierce looking solid and we should get either Perine or Scarlett (or both) back next year, we probably do not need more than a "B" right now
  • Plus, we still have Clement in the wings....

Wide Receiver = C
  • How are we unable to land a single elite receiver?
  • We shall see how Copeland does, but he should be able to move into the starting line up next year

Tight End = A
  • With the addition of Krull and Pitts last year, we have the depth and talent
  • If you are only going to get 1 at a position, make sure it is a good one!

Offensive Line = B
  • We have some good, but not great talent.
  • Disappointing that we were unable to land a single "elite" prospect given the opportunity to play
  • Gourage is coming on good and will probably play a lot next year....

Defensive Tackle = B+
  • Our current guys will be back, but we need depth and future starters.
  • If we can land 2 solid Blue Chips there, that will be a good class!

Defensive End = B+
  • We are losing at least 2, if not 3 this year, so we need some talent!
  • This would be a good class for he position

Linebacker = A
  • Major area of need, major talent received!

Defensive Backs = A+
  • This is what you would expect from DBU! Area of need and hit a home run!
  • However, this grade takes a big hit if we do not get Steele and Elam

Safety = D
  • Not sure how to color this any other way, this is a major need and we have major wiffs.

Total Class Recruiting Grade: B
  • Offensive Recruiting Grade: B-
  • Defensive Recruiting Grade: B

If you were an elite receiver would you want to play with our quarterbacks?

Current recruits won't be playing with Franks, they will be playing with EJ....

That is crazy about the running back situation.. but it's only November I do believe that we will get a pretty good class. I do hope we get Wright, Steele, and Elam but I hope we can get sound quality good offensive and defensive line Prospect to me that is where we start in this class.

We need to hit on a couple of those big time defensive line recruits. We are really hurting at safety. We will need a couple of the best safety's out there in 2020 class.
