October is the month of midterms in Gainesville both in the classroom and on the gridiron. Florida (5-1, 3-1 SEC) is at the halfway point of the 2018 season and it's time to hand out some grades.

Today Kassidy Hill and Mark Wheeler will grade the offensive two-deep depth chart as part of our mid-season review series.

QUARTERBACK

He has done what's asked of him & moved the offense efficiently.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
What is the deal with Jefferson? Does he just get the best DB on the other side assigned to him and/or is he just not getting open?

Seems to be, once Grimes gets the ball in his hands, he is pretty fast and has some skill after the fact. Seems like there is some potential there that is not getting tapped...

Van gets the most targets so that DB aspect is a part of it. He has great knowledge of his route trees and can juke guys once the ball is his hands but he is a bit smaller so he can have trouble getting space at times. So kinda, to answer your question haha. If he can beat the first guy on his route by a couple of steps then he can pull the ball in and beat any other guy in front of him. If he's tasked with pulling down a 50/50 ball, well then it's about 50/50 whether he'd get it.

Tre, IMO, just has the misfortune of being the younger guy in a loaded unit. His chemistry with Feleipe will help him see more targets I think, and by the end of the season he could be in the top 3 receivers.

Also just remembered that ball Van caught for 26 yards with Grant Delpit all over him. So yea, as I said, it's a 50/50 shot for him on those 50/50 balls but he's always gonna be in the right spot to at least have a chance.
