Behind Enemy Lines: Avoiding the trap

October 10, 2018

Each week this season we will connect with a reporter from the opposing team’s beat to learn a little more about the Gators foe and see how the lead-up is looking from the other side.

This week as the No. 14 Florida Gators (5-1, 3-1) visit the Vanderbilt Commodores (3-3, 0-2) we speak with Adam Sparks who covers the Dores for The Tennessean

Q: Florida is 11th in FBS with 48 tackles for loss and rush end Jachai Polite (7.5 tfl, 6 sacks) is only getting stronger. Does Kyle Shurmur have the capability—and for that matter, the offensive line—to keep this from becoming an uneven matchup favoring the Gators all day?

A: Quarterback Kyle Shurmur usually plays well if he has the time, so the responsibility is definitely on the offensive line.
