Florida Gators head coach Dan Mullen met with the media on Monday following the Gators 27-16 loss to the Kentucky Wildcats.

* Mullen confirms that corner Marco Wilson will be out for the season with a torn ACL. Says that you feel horrible for Marco. Also adds that it will be tough for the team losing a guy that Mullen would’ve called one of their best defensive players.

Who is responsible for the $2 Mil payout. Was this considered in the severance of the prior coach? If not, maybe we could have bought them out for a lot less than the $2 Mil. Our prior coach is like the disease that just keeps giving and will not go away. Hopefully FF looks like the FF in the first game and most of the first half, not the FF who reverted to last years form staring down receivers and missing wide open people in the end zone and over the middle.

Mullen when asked about CeCe coming back this week said "Yeah -- uhhhh -- yeah. We'll see. He should be back this week. We'll see. It's only Monday. We got pretty high standard now in this program for guys. It's only Monday. We'll see."

Chauncey Gardner-Johnson seemed more sure, saying: "CeCe knows what's expected from him. He didn't want to miss the first two games, that's not his choice. But he's ready to get back out there an compete and have fun. Practice is just practice, but like I said, it's hard for him, but he's playing this week. Got to go in focused as a leader, step up, take control of the D-line, linebackers, like I take control of the secondary and the whole defense and just put everybody accountable because we want to win and we want to win now."

Mullen's response was tongue in cheek, saying CeCe should be back this week because he's served his suspension. But we have high standards for our guys and it's only Monday so he could still mess up and get himself suspended this week.

This is the best quote...its a teachable moment and will say a lot for the next game and the rest of the year. Reacting to and building upon adversity, Mac was horrible at this part.

* Based on the locker room after the game, Mullen says the attitude of the guys was fantastic but they didn't really know what to think. He told the guys in their meeting Monday morning that if they didn't have a silly penalty on defense, got the ball back, drove down the field and scored, would their mindset on Monday be the same today as it is following a loss? Said if they had won and came in today with a different mindset that they're not getting better because they won't face the issues that plagued them.
