After Florida hosted perhaps its most talent-laden visitor list last weekend, the numbers won't be where they were for the Alabama game, but the Gators are still expecting some important targets on Saturday in what is primarily a 2023 centric visitor weekend.

Saturday Update

Jordan Phillips‍ was expected to make his third straight Florida home game today, but he just let Inside the Gators know that he wouldn’t be in. You can add a new name to the list as Florida 2023 four-star receiver commit Raymond Cottrell‍ will be visiting.

Friday Afternoon Update

Inside the Gators has confirmed that Florida four-star wide out commit CJ Smith‍ and top defensive line target Jordan Phillips‍, who just happens to be committed to Tennessee, will also be in attendance on Saturday. We shared our thoughts on Phillips in this week’s Flipping Out feature.

The Commits & Class of 2022

Last weekend, of Florida's 18 public commitments in the Class of 2022, 2023, and 2024, the only three pledges – Mac Markway‍, Francois Nolton Jr.‍, and Trey Smack‍ - who weren't scheduled to attend that game, are actually planning on being at the game this weekend.

Also, 2022 commits Jamarrien Burt‍ and David Conner‍ as well as 2023 pledge Aaron Gates‍ are all expected to be in attendance.

The other non-committed 2022 prospects due in haven't seen much interest from Florida to date. That list includes Jacksonville (Fla.) Nease linebacker Ben Bogle and Hawthorne (Fla.) 6-foot-5, 320-pound offensive lineman Kylyn Bryant.

In-state Underclassmen

The biggest name due in, regardless of class, is Lakeland (Fla.) Lake Gibson five-star cornerback Cormani McClain, the No. 10 rated prospect in the nation according to the 247 Sports Composite.

What an incredible turnaround for Florida here.

When he spoke with Inside the Gators at the UC Report Combine back in April, Florida was on the outside looking in. Here is a prospect from Lake Gibson, which is historically a feeder school for Florida State, and was standing near his teammate, Seminoles commit Sam McCall and all but called Florida's chances of landing him DOA.

Since then, UF has gotten him on campus a couple of times, and though it is still early, the Gators are trending upward.

Another highly rated in-state prospect due in for the second week in a row is Kissimmee (Fla.) Osceola four-star defensive end Derrick LeBlanc‍. He is the No. 46 ranked prospect in the nation according to the 247 Sports Composite.

After briefly camping with Florida for FNL, and returning the next day for the Saturday Cookout, Zephyrhills (Fla.) Wiregrass Ranch 2023 four-star wideout Bryson Rodgers earned a Florida offer. He visited Florida for the season opener against Florida Atlantic and will return on Saturday.

Altamonte Springs (Fla.) Lake Brantley four-star brothers Andrew Harris and Michael Harris will make their first-ever visit to Florida for a game.

Three other in-state prospects who are visiting Saturday and worth keeping an eye on going forward are Sanford (Fla.) Seminole receiver Darren Lawrence, along with his quarterback Luke Rucker, and 6-foot-5, 320-pound Rockledge (Fla.) offensive tackle Bryce Lovett.

Melbourne (Fla.) athlete Robert Stafford hasn't been rated by the services yet, but already has SEC offers from Florida and Arkansas.

Two local prospects in the class who have Florida's attention will be there also. Wide out Creed Whittemore, already holds a Florida offer. While offensive tackle Mozell Williams, who hasn't been offered, but is getting a look from Florida after a June camp performance.

Two younger names to know who are visiting are Starke (Fla.) Bradford County 2024 linebacker Chason Clark and from the Class of 2025, Kissimmee (Fla.) Osceola athlete Taevion Swint is starting to make his name known and should see the offers start coming in in the not to distant future.

Out-of-State Headliners

Coming in from out-of-state is Gardendale (Ala.) 2023 four-star defensive end Kelby Collins‍, who was supposed to visit Florida last weekend, However, he and his family decided to stay home because they thought the weather would be bad. It wasn't, and they missed a classic. However, they'll make up for it by visiting this weekend.

Another Yellow Hammer State product due in is Eufaula (Ala.) 6-foot-6, 320-pound offensive lineman Patrick Screws. He was one of the standouts at Florida's Elite Camp at the end of June, and then returned to campus at the end of July for Friday Night Lights and the Saturday Cookout.

Ridgeland (Ms.) 2023 four-star wide receiver Ayden Williams, who was a Florida summer camp standout, and earned an offer not long afterward, will be in town with teammate, 2022 linebacker KJ Baker.

We should have got more recruits from this year to go to this game. It's still Tennessee and it's still at night and it's still in the Swamp.

We packed it out with recruits last week but this week is pretty sad.

We shot our shot last week and didn't get any recruits to commit to us and this is what we're left with.

The only way to make up for it is if McClain commits to us.
