Five Fast Thoughts: A tale of two halves

Here are Five Fast Thoughts after Florida's 42-20 road win over South Florida. Included is a look at what was a tale of two halves offensively, improved play from the offensive line and Jacob Copeland living up to his billing.

-----

I write the outline for this as the game is being played and then go back in and fill in the blanks post-game. Thus some ‘takes’ might seem a bit dated or perhaps even over the top as I write my thoughts ‘in the moment’.

I would bet we all felt the same way as the game unfolded. Only thing not listed about Copeland was a late hit he took and kept on playing! At the time I thought that player should have been ejected. That was a brutally late hit.

My only thought about Saturday's game and last week even though these were not 'Bama level teams is that I don't remember( might be my age) having this much yardage against these lower talented teams. Seems the Gators always play down to the level of their opponents. One more thing, unless a player is blocked into a downed player the roughing penalty should be called more. Copeland could've been done for at least the Bulls game and maybe more. Every time one of our players does this I hold my breath, looking for a flag.
