Florida four-star quarterback commit Nick Evers has been working on getting his 7-on-7 teammate, Frisco (Tx.) Liberty five-star receiver  Evan Stewart‍ to join him at Florida.

That happened – for now - this past weekend, if only for an official visit.

“I mean me and Nick, we were everywhere together,” said Stewart. “I mean, we were just talking about everything. What we liked, you know, what was going on and stuff and what our future would be like if we were to both end up here.”

Stewart said that judging by Florida's 2020 offense, he expects UF to throw the ball around, and that is one of the reasons he first became interested in the Gators.

“That was one of the main things I thought about when I was choosing colleges,” explained Stewart. “It was how much they threw the ball, and with them [Florida] throwing the ball a lot it definitely puts them at a higher position than most colleges.”

Satisfied that he would fit into the Gators from an offensive standpoint, Stewart went on to explain what it is he is looking for when he makes his decision.

“Probably, I'd just have to say the vibe I get off the campus. How well I fit in, if I do fit in at all.”

That turned out to be another box Florida checked this past weekend.

“It was fun, it was actually amazing,” said Stewart. “I loved it, I enjoyed it.”

When asked for his highlight from the visit, Stewart replied, “Probably, my big brother, Baby J (Jaquavion Fraziars). He showed me around a lot. It was very welcoming. I felt accepted.”

Now, going forward he will focus on those who have shown him the most interest.

“Florida, Texas, Alabama and LSU and Texas A&M a little bit,” was the reply from Stewart when asked which schools he was in the most contact with.

Stewart is unsure of exactly when he will make his choice, but he does know that he will take his next official visit to Southern Cal and he also has a return date in mind to see Florida.

“I most definitely want to come back up here,” said Stewart. “Probably the Alabama game.”

Stewart is the No. 34 ranked prospect in the nation according to the 247 Sports Composite.
