When he threw it out there, he didn't want to expand on it, but I had to push. I told him you can't crack open that door and not walk through it.

He made it clear that he thought Mullen was different this year, but then again, I think everyone thinks that. I have documented some of it on the We Chomp Chat.

However, the player believes things will get back to normal.

Love these articles! That halftime speech is damming. It sounds like Mullen lost his will to coach at the end. How crazy.

Why is what I want to know.

He's never been like this before. You showed the video of him talking about thumb wresting and how he gets fired up to compete and he is saying things this year that sound like excuses and giving up.

Do you think the recruiting mess got to him?

Do you think he is mad about not getting the contract extension and that is what has him down and putting out NFL feelers?

What does that tell you about our defensive coaches that they stuck Dean at cornerback at 1st and he has the talent to go to the NFL as a safety but he hardly ever played for us whike Steiner was beaten like a dog every game.

I don't think we know more than coaches but I know Dean is better than Steiner and if the coaches can't see something that obvious they shouldn't be coaches at Florida.

If players are willing to give Mullen a pass for some of the things he said this year we fans should too.

We aren't going to do any better than what we have with him.

We probably take a step back next year and then have a big 2022.

If it was just some of the things he said...maybe. But it isn't.

Its lazy recruiting. And not only that, he somehow gets a showcause recruiting violation while landing another dismal lazy recruiting class. He has repaired some relationships that the previous coaching staff f'd up, but his recruiting is bad and obviously not getting any better.

Its putting the worst defense on the field since 1917. Ive read some articles that try to justify it by using stats to make it seem like it isn't as bad as it looked but all anyone has to do is watch the games and they will see a defense that was consistently lined up wrong, confused, bad angles, poor discipline and just a general lack of any look of competence at any time. The only position group that seemed to improve was the DL but that probably has more to do with getting some depth back a few games into the season. When Mullen took over UF, this program had a broke offense but the defense was solid. While we have to give credit to Mullen for turning the offense around (and the offense has improved every single year) we have to give credit to Mullen for the defense going from better than good to pathetic. When we watch the offense this year, its obvious they are well coached and have a solid understanding of what is going on and know their assignments. The defense is the exact opposite. Horrible. Mullen is the head coach and it is obvious he isn't very involved on the defense. And Grantham is coming back. ***?

Its taking the bowl game off and declaring it meaningless. That was embarrassing. It was pathetic. He gets $6mil a year to coach the football team for an entire year and he mails in the bowl game? Then he has the nerve to blow it off in the presser as if it didn't matter? How many of you would be fired in a Monday morning meeting at your job if you blew off a big task at work and then tell your customers and bosses it was meaningless and didn't matter? I would.

Its considering all the above, then floating interest in the NFL out there so you can get a contract extension.

What makes you think we will have a big year in 2022? Was it another pathetic recruiting class? Was it retaining the overpaid Grantham?

2021 is going to be a bad year and I believe 2022 will be worse. I thank Mullen for trying and actually doing a great job of turning the offense around, but it is becoming painfully obvious that we will always be 2nd in the East and honorable mention in meaningless bowl games from here on out.

I have a feeling you didnt watch the press conference. CDM was honest in the P.C. but some folks are being too emotional about the results.

1. Instead of 28 days between the SECCG there was 11.
2.He was human and allowed his team to see their family for Christmas after months of Covid protocols
3. This game was meaningless in the grand scheme of things. CDM knows his team better than any of us and knew the opt outs would affect the results. He knows he has to prepare THIS team for next year. As he said we played the youngsters to get film in a live game to show them what they did well and did not so well, as a way to prep them this off-season.
3a. Getting EJ reps was awesome. Getting the young WRs, DBs, LBs and DL reps was best. Also a loss provides motivation in the off-season.
4. Who really thought UF was going to win this game with the opt-outs/injuries/covid issues?

I dont agree with retaining TG, but still look forward to next year.

I watched the pressers. It was embarrassing. He gets paid $6 mil a year. His attitude and excuses are in direct conflict with his own coveted Gator Standard. Last year all you heard from him was Peach Bowl Champion this and Peach Bowl Champion that and Im so competitive I will thumb wrestle you. This year all you hear was you guys don't know how to win and it was a meaningless bowl game. I guess his Gator Standard is different than what he said it was last year. Marco Wilson not only starts after throwing the shoe, he is the team captain at the next game. Grantham is still on the staff. Next year is his program 100% and it will probably be a 7-8 win season at best with any chance of getting to Atlanta and beyond over by the end of September to mid Oct.

I watched the pressers, and more importantly I watched all the games. His pressers were embarrassing when you take them into context what game they followed.
