With the regular season halfway over, it seems like a good time to hand out some midterm grades. Here is the Gators’ unofficial two-deep offensive depth chart and our assessment of how each player has performed so far.

QUARTERBACK
Player Comment Grade
Kyle Trask

Somehow this grade still feels too low. He’s putting together one of the best seasons in program history and shattering records. He should be a finalist for the Heisman Trophy.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
Whittemore has 5 catches for 55 yds and gets a A- but Copeland gets a C for 6 catches for 120 yds?

Copeland's also gotten a lot more snaps than Whittemore, so the fact that they're even close statistically says all you need to know. I tried to evaluate them by performance and not production, which are not always necessarily the same thing.

Plus, if I can add, if I were doing the grades expectations play a part as well.

You expect more from certain players and if and when they don't deliver, you down grade them because of it.
