The Storylines

• The Gators are seeking a seventh consecutive victory, and a fifth straight win in SEC play -- which would be its longest winning streak against SEC opponents since opening 2012 with six wins over league teams.

• UF’s 89 points this year tie its highest total in a two-game stretch against SEC teams since the start of the 2009 season. The 2010 Gators scored 89 points in an overtime win over Georgia (34-31) and a blowout at Vanderbilt (55-14).

• Florida dropped from No. 3 to No. 4 in the AP Top 25 -- still the highest its been since three weeks from Oct. 8-22, 2012.

• In addition to consecutive top-10 finishes in the AP Poll for the first time since 2008 and 2009, the Gators are coming off consecutive seasons with at least 10 wins for the first time since 2008 and 2009 (both 13-win campaigns).

• Florida ranks second nationally and leads the SEC with 7.8 yards per play through its first two games.

• Florida is also averaging 7.8 yards per play since the start of Dan Mullen’s first season, which ranks eighth among Power Five Conference programs and 14th among all FBS programs. UF’s 6.5 yards per play last season ranked 16th nationally, far and away its best average since 2009, when it averaged 7.0 yards per play.

• The Gators’ 44.5 points per game this season rank fourth nationally and second in the SEC.

• Since Mullen took over in 2018, Florida’s 34.9 points per game ranks tied for eighth among Power Five programs.

• In addition to having scored 35-plus points in its last four games, Florida scored at least 35 points in consecutive games against SEC teams for the second time since the start of 2009, with the other occurrence coming in 2012, when UF beat Tennessee, 37-20, and then Kentucky, 38-0.
