Ocala (Fla.) Vanguard four-star wide receiver Trevonte Rucker‍ is solid enough in his commitment to Florida that he is on the trail recruiting others to join him in Gainesville.

However, that doesn't mean that he doesn't want to enjoy the recruiting process to its fullest and take official visits when and if things open back up.

Rucker along with fellow commits Carlos Del Rio‍, Daejon Reynolds‍, and Kamar Wilcoxson‍ have been among the most active members of the Class of 2021 recruiting for Florida on social media.

The 6-foot, 170-pounder, stated that there are two reasons for his involvement.

“I want to get more people on board to help win a championship,” said Rucker. “I want to help build a great team and all the talk on Twitter and all of us chatting helps us all build a better relationship.”

According to Rucker, some of the recruiting he does is based on who he wants to play with, but some of it comes at the direction of the Florida staff.

“We know some of who the coaches want because they tell us or we see them recruiting them and some of it is us just doing our thing recruiting who we want to play with. I want to get some other receivers out there because it makes the team better and it makes me better.”

Not only is he recruiting on behalf of the Florida staff, he also keeps in close contact with the staff himself.

“We still talk every day,” said Rucker. “It's either [Billy] Gonzales, [Christian] Robinson, or Coach [Dan] Mullen sometimes will call or Coach Coop [David Cooper] or [Keiwan] Ratliff. We chop it up on the phone or we Facetime. They tell me to stay active during this time and let it play out.

Rucker's biggest target is his teammate, four-star defensive end Bryce Langston‍.

“I'm always playing with him, telling him he knows where his heart is at to come on and commit already,” said Rucker with a smile. “I know who he likes but he wants to take some visits.”

When asked where Langston is leaning, Rucker replied with a 'No comment.”

Speaking of taking some visits, Rucker admitted that although he considers himself firmly committed to Florida – if and when official visits are permitted he will be taking two – one to Florida and the other to an SEC West program.

“Probably Ole Miss just to see what it's like up there,” said Rucker.

Rucker is the No. 176 rated prospect in the nation according to the 247 Sports Composite.

I get the feeling that Rucker and Langston are holding that Ole Miss visit in case they can't make the grades...Marion county schools are such garbage

Not Marion County in general (look at Trinity Catholic), but Vanguard has had issues with top kids getting grades. Look at Culpepper and Manuel. Ole Miss is likely on their radar for the same reason it was for Manuel.

Yet strangely enough Vanguard is the magnet school for the IB program in Ocala. So some of this could have to do with effort.

IF getting an education is a priority - especially to the parents - that is the No. 1 factor in the equation. There are examples of kids who attend F rated high schools going to Ivy League schools.

Fraziars goes to Dunelleon in Marion County and he was the student athlete of the year. You can be a good student in bad area if you put in the work. Manuel didn't put in the work. Blame him not the school district.
