Though he was committed to Florida State, ever since Florida offered Ocala (Fla.) Trinity Catholic three-star offensive lineman Jake Slaughter‍ back in May, the feeling has been that eventually he would flip to the Gators.

On Friday afternoon it became a reality.

John Hevesy told the 6-foot-4, 300-pound center that he planned on offering him the first day of the spring evaluation period, but then high school spring football was canceled due to Corvid-19. Florida however still extended the offer.

Not long after the offer he and his family took a Virtual visit to Florida.

Though he maintained that he was still solid to the Seminoles, Inside the Gators heard enough behind-the-scenes to include him as a commitment in our last two Mock Signing Classes.

Slaughter is the No. 633 rated prospect in the nation according to the 247 Sports Composite.
