Baltimore (M.D.) St. Frances Academy four-star cornerback Clinton Burton Jr.‍ shocked the recruiting world on Friday evening with his decision to flip from Florida to Boston College.

The decommitment in itself wasn’t all that surprising.

Late last month the 5-foot-11, 170-pounder appeared on our Flipping Out feature as one of the five most likely Gators commits to flip before signing day.

Even though he wasn’t considered completely solid in his pledge to the Gators, the fact that Boston College was able to pull him away came out of left field.

Plus, just nine days ago, on July 8th, he tweeted out that he was shutting down his recruiting process.

Burton comes in as the No. 176 rated prospect in the nation according to the 247 Sports Composite. He was the fourth highest-rated Florida commit before his flip.
