At one point in time Ocala (Fla.) Vanguard defensive end Bryce Langston‍ was committed to Florida. He may be again in the future, but if that is to happen the Gators will have to fight off an SEC rival.

On Saturday evening the 6-foot-3, 250-pounder tweeted that he had a top two of Florida and LSU.

On Sunday, in a brief interview conducted via Twitter DM, he explained to Inside the Gators what stands out most about the two.

Florida: “They've been there since my 9th grade year, recruiting me hard.”

LSU: “They made it because they’re a great program and they recruit me hard.”

When asked exactly who it is from Florida that is recruiting him hard he responded, “The coaches at UF are Coach [David] Turner, Coach Coop [Assistant Director of Player Personnel David Cooper], Coach [Christian] Robinson and Coach [Dan] Mullen.

“They tell me they want me to play in the Swamp.”

Florida is also getting an assist from a player who was in Langston’s shoes just months ago.

Class of 2020 five-star signee Gervon Dexter‍ tweeted at Langston not long after Langston released his top two.

Not only did Dexter make that public plea, but he is also working on Langston behind-the-scenes.

“We talk a lot,” said Langston. “He wants me to come play next to him in the Swamp.”

While Dexter is working on him, his high school teammate Trevonte Rucker‍, who recommitted to Florida last month is taking a different approach.

“Rucker tells me to make the best decision for me.”

Langston said that he has an official visit set to LSU for April 17-19 (if it doesn't get canceled because of the NCAA visit restrictions in place) and will likely take his official visit to Florida when the Gators play LSU.

When it comes time to decide, Langson said he will focus on the following.

“Whichever school would make me better for a chance to go to the NFL, and where I’ll get on the field at first.”

He is the No. 95 ranked prospect in the nation according to the 247 Sports Composite.
