Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) American Heritage class of 2021 defensive end Dallas Turner‍ was in attendance Saturday night as the No. 11 Florida Gators thrashed FSU in Gainesville 40-17.

Turner last visited Gainesville when the Gators shutout UT Martin 45-0 in September. The four-star prospect says the atmosphere was significantly different while attending this in-state rivalry game.

“I really liked it a lot,” Turner said. “I could definitely see the big difference and I could also see how they can fill the stadium up as well. It was a very loud game actually.”

The Swamp had 89,409 fans in attendance on Saturday which made things all the more difficult for the Seminole offense. Besides having to deal with the noise, FSU had to face a stout defensive line that racked up eight sacks and had 12 tackles for loss.

Edge rusher Jonathan Greenard contributed three of those sacks and Turner believes he can thrive in a similar role as Greenard if he decided to commit to Florida.

“I feel like if I come here and play the buck position I can really thrive and make my stock towards the NFL as well.”

Turner has loved how the coaching staff has utilized Greenard in the buck position and the role is very appealing to the ambitious edge rusher.

When it comes to the coaching staff, Turner says he has been keeping up with wide receivers coach Billy Gonzales, defensive coordinator Todd Grantham and head coach Dan Mullen. The 6-foot-3 pass rusher says that he is in constant contact with UF coaches and they predominantly check in to see how Turner’s family is doing.

When asked what schools are most appealing to him as of now, Turner was inconsistent in his answer.

“I don’t really have a top school right now,” Turner said.

The junior hesitated a little and then followed with a statement.

“It’s Florida right now. A little bit LSU.”

Turner also wasn’t sure when he would commit to a program. The four-star said he would decide in the spring or sometime next football season.

He is the No. 247 ranked prospect in the Class of 2021 on the 247 Sports Composite.
