WCC: Weekend Visitor Updates

Though there won't be any official visitors in town this weekend to see Florida take on Vanderbilt, once again, considering the opponent and the fact that the game is being played at noon, the Gators have a much better visitor list than you might expect.

First and foremost, only a handful of Florida's 20 commits will actually be on hand Saturday. Four-star cornerback Jahari Rogers‍ is the only out-of-state pledge who is certain to make it in. From in-state Gerald Mincey‍, Issiah Walker‍, Richie Leonard‍, Jaquavion Fraziars‍ and Jonathan Odom‍ will be on campus.

Antwaun Powell‍ is trying to make the trip.

As for uncommitted targets on the offensive side of the ball – running back and wide out will be well represented.

Florida is expecting Deerfield Beach (Fla.) Composite Top 100 back, and former Florida State commit, Jaylan Knighton‍ will be on campus. He will be joined by Mississippi State commit Joquavioius Marks and Jalen White, who has yet to garner any significant offers despite leading the nation in rush yardage.

At wide out Florida is expecting another MSU commit in JUCO four-star Malik Heath.

Xzavier Henderson‍, the younger brother of current Florida cornerback CJ Henderson, is also scheduled in this weekend.

Turning to the defensive side of the board, for the umpteenth time this year Florida is expecting Miami (Fla.) Gulliver Prep four-star defensive end Donell Harris‍ to be on campus. Harris, the No. 48 ranked prospect in the nation on the 247 Sports Composite, has been scheduled to see the Gators twice already this season, but didn't make either trip. We'll see if the third time is a charm.

Two other highly rated defensive linemen due in are Seffner (Fla.) Armwood four-star defensive tackle Clyde Pinder‍, who is committed to North Carolina, and Griffin (Ga.) three-star Damarjhe Lewis. The former Auburn commit was a Florida camp standout back in June of 2018.

I never heard of him before I saw he was on the list. Probably a walk on candidate I would think.

Quick Google search that I did revealed he's a 6'7" QB from Sarasota. Even if he is a walk-on, that's a big dude for the QB room!

He was on campus today and told me UF likes him as a preferred walk-on. He also has interest from Georgia Tech and Liberty.

I just posted an update on his article. He said he got there late so he didn't get a chance to talk to Mullen pregame. He plans to return for the FSU game.

I don't know they would offer right now anyway. Perhaps down the road. I know Sunseri liked him at camp, but he of course isn't around.

I apologize, I misread his reply to me.

I asked him what the coaches had to say to him, he responded that he didn't go up there because he was late, I took it to mean he didn't go up to the coaches' offices as some kids do.

His reply:

I didn't go up there because I was going get there to late I'm planning on going to the Florida state game at a the swap maybe I'll get the offer then.
