Five Fast Thoughts: Mullen still unable to run his preferred offense

There was some good, some bad and then some ugly in Jacksonville on Saturday afternoon. Here are Five Fast Thoughts as No. 6 Florida wasn’t able to pull the upset of No. 8 Georgia, falling 24-17 to the Bulldogs.

-----

I write the outline for this as the game is being played and then go back in and fill in the blanks post-game. Thus some ‘takes’ might seem a bit dated or perhaps even over the top as I write my thoughts ‘in the moment’. Plus, this is a bit more of a ‘raw’ update in that I write what I write and really don’t go back and check the game tape or even worry about grammar or punctuation before publishing the article.

Grantham has been showed up the last 3 games and I agree about the offense. When Jones or Richardson takes over we'll see how the offense runs.

If Grantham had the same level talent or even close, it would be a different story. He's done very well with the talent he has. If we continue to recruit better on both lines, we will get there.

Grantham couldnt get UGA to a NC with his defense at Georgia when they were averaging 42 PPG with Mike Bobo. He wont get Florida there either, especially with the talent defeciect along the DL and LB/S position. Allowing Georgia to convert 3rd and longs was extremely frustrating to watch.

Why Mullen even bothered to try and run up the middle is beyond me and once again Emory comes in to waste a play on a obvious designed run. You can see the frustration on his face, I wouldnt be surprised if he transfers with the way he has been utilized. Let the kid throw or dont put him in the game.

I'm tired of hearing about how badd our line is and then we keep playing the same players.

We need to put Forsythe and Bleich on the bench and give other players a chance.

They can't do any worse than those two.
