Despite early defensive struggles, Gators shut out Tigers

Early on during Florida’s 38-0 shutout win over Towson on Saturday, the defense struggled to get a stop.

If you were just to look at the final score, that wouldn’t sound right. However, anyone who watched the actual game will corroborate the claim.

Towson totaled 248 yards of offense and were 8-of-15 on third downs.

It was the Tigers passing attack that succeeded early in the game. Towson’s receivers averaged 10.2 yards per reception and consistently converted on third and long.

Don't know why we can't stop 3rd and long conversions in the first half, but if we could I think we would be among the elite defenses in the country. These guys after the (as Coach Mullen puts it) not so fun halftime are pretty darn good. Go Gators!!!!!!!

The Gators are one of the best teams after halftime! Mullen and Grantham have these guys adjusted and pumped up for the last two quarters. If they can just come out like they do in the second half for the whole game it'll be good.
