The Storylines

• Florida and Miami renew their rivalry with the first meeting between the two programs since 2013. This is just the seventh meeting in the series since the turn of the century.

• It is just the third meeting since the start of the 2005 season. Florida won a 2008 matchup, 26-3, in Gainesville. Miami won the most recent meeting (the 2013 game), 21-16, in Miami Gardens. Florida and Miami announced earlier this week the two will play a home-and-home series in 2024 (Aug. 31 - Gainesville) and 2025 (Sept. 20 - Miami Gardens).

• Florida is making its 39th appearance on College GameDay (not counting the 2008 Orange & Blue Game), the third-highest total in the show’s history, and boast a 24-14 record with the traveling show covering its game.

• Florida is 1-1 against Miami with College GameDay on site. The No. 5 Gators throttled Miami, 26-3, in Gainesville in 2008, while No. 1 Miami beat No. 6 Florida, 41-16, in Gainesville back in 2002.

• The Gators enter this year seeking a second consecutive 10-win campaign for the first time since posting 13 wins in both 2008 -- head coach Dan Mullen’s final year as offensive coordinator -- and 2009.
