Florida Rivals250 Offensive Commits & Targets

February 21, 2019

The updated Rivals250 was released this week.

In the 2019 cycle, in landing Rivals No. 8 overall class, the Gators signed a total of nine Rivals250 prospects - five in the Rivals100. For the first time in several years UF was able to sign (Chris Steele‍ and Tyron Hopper‍) a couple of ‘elite’ prospects, those ranked in the top 50 in the nation.

It is early, and the rankings and Florida’s commitment list are guaranteed to change going forward, but less then a month into this cycle and Florida already has five commitments in the updated Rivals250.

I didn't see Marcus Fleming on this team or Jaheim Bell? Are we still actively after them or do we even still have a shot?

Running Backs

With Perine leaving after the 2019 season and uncertainly about the health of Davis (back to back season ending injuries), Florida is going to been someone to step in and complete for that #2 role in 2020 and an elite recruit could do thator at least snag that #3 rotation spot. Florida probably needs at least 1 elite prospect at this position this cycle. While I would love to see Smith JR in a gator uniform, I do not see Florida taking 2 backs this class and if we get Bowman that may leave him out....

Demarkcus Bowman 5'11, 186 LBS from FL 5* prospect with a 0.9858 Rating as a HB
He also visited Florida on 2/2/2019 and is expected to visit again, with Beck, for the OB game. This is Florida's best chance of landing an elite HB for the first-time sine Taylor in 2013, Florida appears to be in the lead right now.

EJ Smith 6'0, 190 LBS from TX 4* prospect with a 0.9589 Rating as a HB

The son of Emmitt Smith (Gator Great) is an elite prospect, but legacy recruits can be hard to predict because you never know if they want to follow footsteps or pave their own path.

Keyvone Lee 6'0, 216 LBS from FL 4* prospect with a 0.9531 Rating as an ATH (HB)

This one-time Florida Commit (decommitted 2/22/19) originally committed to Florida back in March of 2018 and he has made 4 unofficial visits to Florida since (including Feb 2, 2019), but based on interviews it would appear that Florida was looking to move him to Linebacker and he would prefer to play running back.

Jo'Quavious Marks 5'11, 190 LBS from GA 4* prospect with a 0.9483Rating as a HB

He was able to make an unofficial visit to Florida last season for a game and has also visited Georgia Tech, Tennessee (3), Clemson (2), Georgia, South Carolina, and Miami (2).

WIDE RECEIVER
Probably the second most area of need this class as Florida has a mass exodus coming at the end of the 2019 season with at least 4 receivers graduating and in the last 2 cycles, Florida has only landed 2 elite prospects. They need at least 1 recruit that can push for starting time in 2020 and 2 more that can rotate in and out during the 2020 season and be ready to start in 2021. Good news is they have 1 elite prospect committed and are in good position for a few others.

Rakim Jarrett 6'0, 182 LBS from DC 5* prospect with a 0.9902 Rating as a WR
Florida is in his top six, but has yet to receive a visit. He has visited Penn State (2), Alabama, Ohio State, Clemson, Georgia, and Tennessee. but need to get him on campus. Looks like Florida has some work to do if they want to at least get a hat on the table.

Leonard Manuel 6'4, 200 LBS from FL 4* prospect with a 0.9858 Rating as a WR

Committed to Florida in January 2019, but has not shut things down. 2 weeks after committing to Florida was on campus at Clemson. He has also visited Florida 2/2/2018 with other elite 2020 prospects. He has the size and talent you want, I imagine getting Beck (QB) will help solidify his commitment to Florida.

Marc Britt 6'2, 190 LBS from FL 4* prospect with a 0.9549 rating as a WR

He has 4 back to back to back to back visits to Miami early during the 2018 season, but after a weekend unofficial visit to Florida in December, he decommitted from MiamiI'm sure the coaching change has something to do with that too. He has been back on the Miami campus and should be tough battle to get this talented recruit out of south Florida.

Malachi Wideman - 6'4, 180 LBS from FL 4* prospect with a 0.9505 rating as a WR

This recruit is out if Sarasota (Riverview HS, which was my HS), but will he commit to football over basketball? He does not hold many offers for football, so we shall see which path he commits to.

Jaquavion Fraziars 6'4. 194 LBS from FL 4* prospect with a 0.9301 rating as a WR

This Florida commit (12/2018) has been on campus before and after his commitment. He has not made another other visits to this point and I would suspect the staff will push to have him on campus for the OB game.

Xzavier Henderson 6'3, 180 LBS from FL 4* prospect with a 0.9067 rating as a WR

He has 5 visits to Miami (4 before the coaching change) and 3 visits to Florida, including a recent one in February. He has also recently visited Clemson (January) and Miami (February).

Aydin Henningham - 6'1, 200 LBS from FL 4* prospect with a 0.9013 rating as a WR

He has unofficial visits to FSU, Miami (2), LSU, South Carolina but has not been on foot at Florida...probably not a good sign or maybe a sign he is not a priority.

OFFENSIVE LINE
Florida secured 7 lineman this past class, but no real elite prospects. While Florida is not in need of numbers right now, they do need to get at least 2 elite prospects this class to improve the overall quality at the position.
Quote:

Omari Thomas 6'5, 301 LBS from TN 4* prospect with a 0.9677 rating as an OT
Thomas has made 3 unofficial visits to Ole Miss (back in March 2018) and has visited Tennessee (2), Clemson, Georgia, LSU, and an unofficial to Alabama (with a visit from Saban) it would appear that Florida is out the outside looking in on this prospect.

Jalen Rivers 6'5, 327 LBS from FL 4* prospect with a 0.9612 rating as an OT

He has made a total of 4 visits to Florida (1 during the Mac days) including visits in February 2019, May 2018 and February 2018. He has also made other unofficial visits to Miami (before the coaching change), FSU, Clemson, and LSU. He recently released his Top 5 and it included Florida.

Aaryn Parks 6'4, 294 LBS from MD 4* prospect with a 0.9442 rating as an OT

Florida was in his top five, but with 3 unofficial visits to Penn State and a coach visit from them as well, Florida has a significant amount of ground to make up if they want to be anything more than a hat on the table.

Marcus Dumervil 6'5, 300 LBS from FL 4* prospect with a 0.9430 rating as an OT

Florida has made an offer, but has not gotten him on campus as of yet. However, he has had 6 unofficial visits to Miami (5 before the coaching change) and has also made an unofficial visit to UCF. The staff seems interested but need to get him on campus quickly to have a chance.

Joshua Braun 6'6, 335 LBS from FL 4* prospect with a 0.9365 rating as an OT

He has 2 visits to FSU (all before the 2018 season, LOL) and 1 visit to Miami before their season. However, his last two visits were to Florida (October 2018 for the LSU game & on February 2, 2019). Florida looks to be in a good spot right now and needs to get him on campus again to lock him in!

Sedrick Van Pran 6'4, 305 LBS from LA 4* prospect with a 0.9097 rating as an OC

Lots of offers, but very few visits. Aside from the Junior day visit he made to Alabama, he has not made any other campus visitsso this appears to be wide open.

Jonathan Denis 6'3, 285 LBS from FL 4* prospect with a 0.8963 rating as an OG

It is hard to know for sure, but he made back to back to back visits to Miami from 9/22/2018 10/6/2018 and then decommitted from Miami. Hard to know if that is because of how poor they were playing or what, but it was before the coaching change. He has been back on the Mami campus twice since then and has not made any other visits. So, he seems like a Miami guy at this point
