As Florida’s coaches are out on the road attempting to put the finishing touches on the Class of 2019 and lay the ground work for the Class of 2020, Inside the Gators goes back and reviews how the Class of 2018 performed during their freshman season.

A CLOSER LOOK AT THE FRESHMEN

  • Offensive Line Noah Banks

While the starting five was already set on, Banks, the community college transfer provided some nice depth to the offensive line. He grew with the second string and is a probable starter next season.

Nice write up! Agree on Dean being Freshman of the year!

One thing I notice about Trey Dean is he grabs a lot... a few times he has been bailed out by the quarterback making a bad throw... I know he is a freshman and still learning. I believe he will benefit the most from the Gray hire...

I was watching some videos on coach Gray in practice when he was at Virginia Tech. He was on one of his players about grabbing the receiver. He said all that is a 15-yard penalty you don't need that. Then he showed him how to use his hands and how to stay with the receiver without grabbing him... when Trey Dean gets this down good luck to all recievers...

Nice write up. I really enjoy this kind of analysis. The Gators have a lot of talent coming up, and with the way this staff develops players, it's an exciting prospect.

When Gray gets ahold of dean he's gonna be as good as we've seen on that side of the ball keep an eye on that

If Gray will stay for 2 or 3 years that entire secondary is going to be ruthless.. the ball hawks we were back in 2015 and 2016

That's the biggest question..Can we keep Gray for a few years or is this another one and done type thing

Yea agree and he could get away with it a bit more if he would get his head around and look at the ball. That's something he admitted after the Peach Bowl he had to work on.

Did you see the videos on YouTube or a Virginia Tech site? I'd love to check them out.

Another thing I also noticed that he was teaching is securing The Tackle and ripping the ball out. I could be wrong but I really don't recall our defensive backs doing that so much as the use to...

Imagine CGJ doing that this year
