The Replacements: Countdown No. 4 to No. 1

The No. 6 Florida Gators made it through the exit purge relatively unscathed. The depth chart only took expected hits and will head into the offseason for the 2019 year with the returning quarterback, leading rusher, leading receiver and key defensive pieces. Yet there were still some losses that left open spots to be filled - mostly in the form of nine starters (six on offense, three on defense) who will need to be replaced.

As players begin winter workouts and prepare for spring practice, we take a look at the positions that are looking for new faces and who we could see as the possible replacements.

I know you listed Steele as a possible STAR....but can you see him at Safety? From what I have heard, he is very physical and loves to hit.

If one of the current defensive back signees is to play safety, I could see it being Steele just because of his size and he is physical for a high school corner.

I saw someone mention Jadon Hill, but he has the slightest build of the current signees in the secondary.

I think safety is the most likely landing spot for Steele. I really just listed him as the dark horse candidate for STAR because I think of those coming in, if someone had to get plugged in, it would be him.

I really like Moon as Polite's replacement. He seemed primed to take over the job in 2019 when I watched him at practice before the Peach Bowl. If he puts on a little more weight before next season, I don't see why he can't be the next breakout player on the defensive line.

Steele is very physical. I don't know if you watched the bowl, but Steele took on Trey Sanders 1on1 and took Sanders down. Sanders got hurt on the play and limped off

I see you don't have Gouraige as a possible or dark horse for replacing Ivey or Taylor. No too confident in his progression?

It's not so much that but more I was thinking about it in another way; as in Banks is who I think will be the most probable replacement for Taylor and then the new comers are the dark horse guys who could fight for reps, and Gouraige is floating somewhere in the middle there.
