Two days ago Richmond (Tx.) Fort Bend Travis four-star wide out Arjei Henderson‍ informed Inside the Gators that his four finalists consisted of Florida, Florida State, Penn State and Texas - with January official visits pending.

By Thursday evening he had made up his mind - without taking the visits, or having ever set foot on campus - by declaring for Florida during the Under Armour All American Bowl on ESPN2.

The 6-foot-1, 180-pounder was previously committed to Oklahoma and Oregon. His commitment to the Ducks was during the tenure of now Florida State head coach Willie Taggart, making his choice of the Gators over the Seminoles even more surprising.

At No. 126 on the 247 Composite, Henderson is Florida’s highest rated public commitment to date.

As a senior he had 38 catches for 574 yards and six touchdowns in five games.

Florida is now ranked No. 15 in the 247 Composite Team Recruiting Rankings - one spot ahead of Florida State.

The question now is whether or not he will actually take those other planned official visits in January or will he only visit Gainesville.
