Evaluating the 2019 freshmen class
Now that the 2019 regular season is in the books and with only the bowl game remaining, it has been determined which of the Class of 2019 signees will and won't be redshirted, Inside the Gators takes a closer look at the class, including a look at the top five performers.

WCC Insider: Wardrick Wilson updated
I was informed that when Florida 2019 signee Wardrick Wilson returned to the USA from the Bahamas a few weeks ago to meet with his immigration attorneys, he stayed in the states, and thus avoided the impact of Hurricane Dorian. His family, back in the Bahamas, are in Nassau, so while they were hit, they didn't suffer anywhere near the devastation of those in Abaca and Freeport.Florida has sent him a new I20 (student non-immigrant visa) and after the paperwork snafus that have hounded him, he is once again scheduled to enroll in January.Again, unlike Diwun Black, Deyavie Hammond and Arjei Henderson, Wilson has been cleared academically, this is and has been an immigration issue.

Henderson updated
Wide receiver signee Arjei Henderson told me that Florida has let him out of his LOI, clearing the way for him to go elsewhere if he wants. However, he told me he still wants to go to Florida and is awaiting word from Compliance to see if there is a path for that to happen.

Florida's Class of 2019 is cause for Mullen to reevalute the recruiting process
It looks like Florida is going to have to evaluate how they evaluate the academic side of recruiting after suffering three non-qualifiers in Diwun Black, Deyavie Hammond and Arjei Henderson this past cycle. For perspective, the Gators only had one (McGriff in 2015) non-qualifier in the five previous classes. Add in Jalon Jones and Chris Steele and five of Florida's Top 10 signees according to the 247 Sports Composite didn't make it to the first practice of fall camp.

National Average Rating

The National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a Inside the Gators rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the Inside the Gators Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide Inside the Gators readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

Staff Predictions

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1

If the predicted school is Florida and confidence is set to “High”, then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Florida and I feel very certain about that.”

Example #2
