Sale's personality, NFL experience stands out to out-of-state line target

It wasn't difficult for Frisco (Tx.) Wakeland three-star offensive tackle Connor Stroh‍ to identify what stood out the most to him during his Saturday visit to Florida.

"Being offered, of course, and definitely getting to meet so many of the coaches and having time with Coach [Billy] Napier, Coach [Rob] Sale, and Coach [Darnell] Stapleton," was the reply from Stroh when asked to name the highlight of the visit.

Although the 6-foot-7, 345-pounder said he think he met just about everyone on the staff, speaking with three of them caught his attention.

"I met several coaches, but I had meetings with Coach Sale, Coach Stapleton, and Coach Napier.  I had a good amount of time with all three of them and was able to really get a feel for the program and their approach to coaching."

Sale in particular stood out for a couple of reasons.

The first is who he is.

The second is where he's been.

"He fills up a room for sure," said Stroh. "He has lots of personality and honesty. [His coming from the NFL means] a lot. I mean, that is a goal for every player and I am no different.  I love the experience he has."

Coming into the visit Stroh wasn't exactly a recruiting rooking, already holding offers from the likes of Auburn, Stanford, Tennessee, and Texas.

However, he said that the offer from Florida is something he considers an accomplishment.

"It means a lot," said Stroh. "I appreciate them accommodating my odd schedule and making the most of the time.  They are definitely on my mind."

Stroh visited both Florida and Florida State over the weekend.

When asked to compare the two, he wouldn't bite.

"That is a loaded question, but I did enjoy both visits. I really need more time to dig in."

Up next he will hit a couple of programs closer to home when he trips to SMU, Texas A&M, and then Arkansas.

He said he doesn't currently have a leader, or even a leaderboard, but plans on formulating one in the near future.

"I'll probably have a top 5-7 after we finish Spring football. I expect to commit before Fall ball."

Stroh is the No. 457 ranked prospect in the nation according to the On3 Consensus.
