Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy four-star linebacker Jordan Hall was just one of many Ascender players on campus Saturday at the University of Florida.
While many of them had already been offered by the Gators, the 6-foot-2, 224-pounder received his offer while on campus.
"It means a lot," Hall said of the offer from Florida. "Florida has always been a school I’ve been looking at. Coach [Billy] Napier explained to me that he watches everyone on film before they offer, so it meant a lot to me that he approved it."
Napier might have been the one to extend the offer, but Hall said he spent most of his time with two other coaches.
"I was mostly with Coach [Jay] Bateman and Coach [Jamar] Chaney," explained Hall. "They both said they liked how I’ve improved since last year and how my versatility is something that they need at the linebacker position."
Up until Napier was able to land Kamari Wilson in this last cycle, Florida had never signed a prospect from the most talent-rich program in the Sunshine State.
How many they get going forward is still to be decided, but the Gators are putting their best foot forward. That was evident when two vehicle loads of IMG prospects unloaded out in front of the Heavener Complex on Saturday.
Hall said he can sense there is a building vibe about the Gators amongst his teammates.
"Kamari was a huge step on what the Florida program is trying to build," said Hall. "I think we had over 10 IMG guys visiting this weekend and that in itself should say how Florida recruiting is going at IMG."
As for how Florida is doing with him personally, Hall has yet to release a leaderboard, but said that UF had positioned themselves going forward.
"Florida really improved themselves this weekend for when I will be making my list of top schools in the next couple of months."
He said that he will be heading back home to Virginia, so that will give him a chance to visit some programs in the Mid-Atlantic area and that he hopes to get back to Florida this spring, and if not, definitely over the summer.
Hall is the No. 251 rated prospect in the nation according to the On3 Consensus.
