Florida makes a positive impression on four-star receiver

On Friday Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Stranahan four-star wide receiver Hykeem Williams‍ finally had a chance to see Florida up-close and in person.

The 6-foot-3, 195-pounder was scheduled to visit Gainesville for a camp last summer, but he didn't make it in.

That may actually end up being a positive for Florida since his first experience is with the new staff rather than the previous one.

When asked about the highlight of the trip, Williams got right to the point.

“Just getting to meet the entire offensive coaching staff,” said Williams. “Coach [Keary] Colbert was telling me about how he coaches wide receivers and how he would help me develop.”

Williams said that speaking with head coach Billy Napier also made a positive impression on him.

“He is a great person,” Williams said of Napier. “He was telling me how I would fit right into the environment [at Florida].”

Though Florida made up some ground with the visit, according to Williams, it isn't enough to break into the top eight he released back during the first week of February.

“Florida is in a good place, but I [still] have my top eight.”

He said he currently has three spring visits scheduled.

“FSU, Pitt, and Georgia,” replied Williams when asked about upcoming visits. “I don't know when I'll get back to Florida.”

Williams is the No. 60 ranked prospect in the nation according to the On3 Consensus.

The Inside Scoop: Williams isn't overly talkative, or expressive, which can be a positive. He isn't swayed easily, which means he won't be sky-high after every visit, changing his list on a whim. However, if you are Florida, you would have liked to have him say that the Gators replaced one of his existing eight favorites. The key for Florida now will be getting him back on campus, especially before he makes his 20th visit to Miami.
