Though there are still over 10 months remaining until the Early Signing Period when it comes to Jacksonville (Fla.) Trinity Christian four-star Treyaun Webb and Florida, it has already been a long and winding road going back to when the Gators' legacy was offered in the spring of 2019, before the start of his freshman season.
Last summer Webb left Florida's Summer Kickoff Recruiting Event saying that the Gators had secured a spot in his top three. That however didn't end well for the Gators as several weeks later he named a final three of Georgia (where he was previously committed), Ohio State, and Oklahoma – before later committing to the Sooners.
He then decommitted from OU back in November when the Sooners underwent a coaching change.
A month Webb released a top 11, but that was before the new staff offered Webb.

Last week the new staff extended an offer to Webb.

Today he visited campus and from the sound of it, the trip couldn't have gone any better.

According to Webb, the highlight was being able to watch the staff and players interact during an afternoon offseason workout.
“I hung out with all the coaches today,” said Webb. “The love was spread around everywhere. The highlight was watching the practice. It was very high tempo and physical.”
It was his interactions with the existing staff, as compared to the previous staff, that has caught Webb's attention.
“The new staff is way better than the old staff as far as recruiting the state of Florida hard and how passionate and genuine they are. “
Webb said the way he felt today had him thinking of taking the plunge.
When asked where the Gators stand among his contenders, Webb replied, “The Gators are the contenders. I almost committed today, so that’s where Florida stands in my recruitment.”
As it is, Webb, said he still has some visits he wants to take, including trips to North Carolina and South Carolina.
Then he will narrow things down.
“My top five will get my officials [visits].”
Webb is the No. 155 ranked prospect in the nation according to the On3 Consensus.
The Inside Scoop: It sounded like the visit went about as well as could be expected, but I would hold off penciling him in this class for now. He tends to let these visits get to him, but we’ll wait and see where things stand after he comes off his visit ‘high’ in a few days, or after another couple of visits. Also, he said that UF is recruiting him strictly as a running back. I think he might be better as an athlete, then get him on campus and see where he can be plugged in.
