With Florida in the process of transitioning from one coaching staff to the next under new head coach Billy Napier. That meant that the Gators were being represented by some new faces out on the road today.

One such newbie, Ryan O'Hara, who will be a quarterback analyst under Napier, visited Missouri City (Tx.) Hightower three-star wideout Caleb Douglas‍.

Until a week ago, the 6-foot-3, 185-pounder was committed to Southern Cal, but opened up his recruiting process with the coaching change out west. Since then he's seen interest from Texas, Indiana, Maryland, and then today – Florida.

“Coach Ryan [O'Hara] said that they were looking at me early but when I started blowing up more they didn't think they had a chance (while at Louisana), but now that they're at an SEC school, a great school like Florida, they wanted me to know they think we would be a great fit for each other.”

While the staff may have been familiar with him, for his part, Douglas said he has to study up on the Gators.

“I don't know too much about Florida except that they have a great tradition there,” said Douglas.

As mentioned above, the reason an analyst was on the road is that the Gators are in the middle of a staff shakeup. That hinders them somewhat at the moment along the recruiting trail because prospects, at least most of them, are interested in who will be coaching them.

“I asked about who's going to be the coach, and coach [O'Hara] said he doesn't know right now, but I can bet they are going to hire a damn good one.”

Douglas has taken three of his five official visits (though he could receive another since USC made the coaching change), and will wait until January to take the rest.

“No, Sir, I'm not going anywhere this weekend,” said Douglas. “I won't be signing early, I'm doing it in February. I don't really have any feelings for anyone yet. I'm weighing things out, waiting to see if I get a vibe from any of them. None of them have made any major moves yet.”

Douglas is the No. 748 rated prospect in the nation according to the 247 Sports Composite.
