Inside the Gators asked Florida commitments and targets for their thoughts on the Gators 70-52 win over Samford. Find out what Nick Evers, Ahmad Moten, Grant Stevens and others thought of the game.

  • 2022 three-star quarterback Davin Wydner

"I watched on my phone on ESPN+. I’m invited up this [next] weekend for the FSU game. The offense was lights out. Emory [Jones] played his best game to date with over 550 total yards and 7 touchdowns. It was obviously a very tough week for the program, especially the defense, it took getting punched pretty good in the first half, then really tightened up in the second half and the offense stayed hot. As far as the season goes, there’s nothing that can be done to change it now, so all they can do is win out the rest of the season."

  • 2022 three-star defensive line target Ahmad Moten

"Yes, [former Gator lineman] Mike Moten, that’s my cousin. The coaches had nothing but good things to say about me. They like the way I play. I'm talking to a lot of schools. I'm just taking it day by day. I think they [Gators] are performing great with the adversity they've had to face this year."

  • 2024 quarterback target Jeff Davis

“I feel like even through the struggles with a Samford squad who actually played really good today, I liked how they kept pushing especially on defense. As far as the offense goes, I was really impressed with the Florida offense, as I’ve been many times this season."

  • 2023 running back target Rod Gainey

“I went with my mom. I think this was a bad tackling game, but offense stayed locked in and stepped up."

  • 2022 defensive line target Gavin Rowell [son of former Gator lineman Tony Rowell]

“I think we struggled in the beginning, especially losing Jeremiah Moon, but after making halftime adjustments we showed our true potential. I’d love to play at Florida. They wouldn’t have to ask me twice!”

“I try to stay positive about things. We played well on offense  – and on defense, we are still trying to find our identity it seems. I know everyone is frustrated because we are capable of so much more.”

  • 2024 wide receiver target DayDay Farmer

“Well a win is a win so they did good enough to take it home, I feel like they are doing good, but not as good as they were at the beginning of the season.”

  • 2022 Central Florida three-star tight end commit Grant Stevens

“I think they are doing pretty okay considering how much talent they lost last year. They [UF coaches] said that they like me and how I play. I think I'm going back for the FSU game."

“There’s a lot of room for improvement and rebuilding. It will all come together.”

  • 2023 athlete target Kerrington Lee

"[The atmosphere], it was great. Love the fans. It was loud. My type of fans for sure. I thought it [the visit] was great. It felt like home. I got treated very nice, everyone was nice."

  • 2023 wide receiver commit Darren Lawrence

"It’s crazy man. I like how we were throwing the ball today. Spreading it to every one man."

  • 2022 three-star offensive line target Ramier Lewis

"The atmosphere, it was kind of rough in the middle of the game and then they turned it out and put 70 on the board. It was good it was crazy. Not as crazy as the other games, but it was crazy. The offensive line, they did a lot. They did a lot better. They were run-blocking good, pass-blocking good, moving the ball and protecting the quarterback."

  • 2024 four-star athlete target Fred Gaskin

"It was a good game. Started off shaky in the first half. The second half they came and cleaned up a little bit of the mistakes on defense and they started to get turnovers and produce points."
