Weekend Visitor Preview: Committed prospects due in

Nov 12, 2021 | 0 comments

As you can imagine would be the case considering the quality of the opponent, Florida's game on Saturday against Samford isn't exactly a star-studded event.

However, there are still some interesting names due to visit for the game.

Class of 2022

The biggest overall name due in from the current cycle is Bainbridge (Ga.) four-star safety Deyon Bouie‍. The one time Georgia commit is now pledged to Texas A&M, but the Gators have kept in contact and he will finally see a game this weekend, though not exactly for the best of game day atmospheres.

After seeing CJ Hawkins flip to Stanford, Florida will welcome in Jacksonville (Fla.) Nease three-star tight end Grant Stevens, who is currently committed to Central Florida.

The only current commit due in for the game is three-star cornerback Jamarrien Burt‍.

Clearwater (Fla.) ACA three-star offensive lineman Ramier Lewis will be making yet another visit to campus on Saturday, after camping with UF twice over the summer and unofficially visiting twice already this season.

Underclassmen

The most highly ranked prospect scheduled to visit is Lehigh Acres (Fla.) Senior five-star running back Richard Young‍, the No. 21 rated prospect in the Class of 2023 according to the 247 Sports Composite.

Another highly sought-after back coming in is Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy 2024 four-star Rod Gainey – who already has multiple offers, including one from Florida.

Then there's Lake City (Fla.) Columbia four-star linebacker Jaden Robinson‍, who has been high on Florida since camping over the summer.

There could be an interesting development between two SEC East rivals this weekend. Powder Springs (Ga.) McEachern 2023  four-star defensive lineman Seven Cloud‍ is committed to Georgia but is deciding on whether he will visit Florida or Georgia this weekend. The Gators are still working on him and with the Bulldogs getting two big defensive tackle commitments recently, he is willing to look around some.

  • Update: While someone who would know told me earlier that Cloud was deciding between visiting UGA and UF this weekend, Cloud himself messaged me he doesn’t plan on visiting anywhere.
