Inside the Gators takes an in-depth position-by-position look at Florida's board with just a week remaining until National Signing Day.

Overview

Though they have yet to offer, it’s interesting to see Florida pursue what would be a sixth scholarship quarterback. There’s no way the Gators would carry that many on the roster, so if they offer, the best guess is they expect some attrition at the position.

1/23 Update: Florida offered quarterback Max Brown while on his Florida official visit.

1/23 Update: Brown decommitted from Central Michigan after Florida offered. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see where this one is headed.

1/24 Update: Brown has committed to Florida.

Overview

Adding Trevor Etienne and Montrell Johnson to Demarkcus Bowman gives Florida three underclassmen to work with over the next couple of seasons. The position is loaded in-state for the next cycle, so with the late start, UF may not be in great shape for TreVonte Citizen and Jordan James, but they don't need to be.

1/24 Update: Florida visited with Trevor Etienne today.

1/25 Update: TreVonte Citizen will take a visit to Florida on Wednesday.

1/27 Update: Jordan James has eliminated UF from consideration.

Overview

DJ Allen told ITG on Wednesday that he will visit Florida officially next weekend. We were told on Sunday by someone close to him that Florida looked good to Javon Baker, but he was going to take his visits and weigh his options. Obviously, leaving Florida on Sunday you had to love the Gators’ chances with Caleb Douglas. Will the late offer from LSU factor though? To be clear, I have never spoken to Stephon Johnson or anyone associated with him. He is included based on a report from 247 Sports.

1/21 Update: Javon Baker‍ is being removed from the board after he committed to Kentucky over Florida and Ole Miss.

1/25 Update: DJ Allen tweeted out that he will be visiting Florida this coming weekend.

1/28 Update: Three-star KD Hutchinson‍ will officially visit Florida this weekend.

1/30 Update: KD Hutchinson wasn't offered during his weekend official visit.

2/1 Update: As predicted in our Fearless Forecast, DJ Allen‍ picked TCU.

Overview

Florida has some young talent at the position with Nick Elksnis, but there has to be a talent infusion upcoming, and I’m not sure any of the three remaining targets would be as good as just waiting to see what is available in the next cycle. Our friends from TexAgs told us on Wednesday that if Hayden Hansen is given a UF offer, he’ll commit. We'll see if Danny Lewis makes his visit after being offered by home-state LSU and then Alabama. Arlis Boardingham loved his official visit, but it didn't seem from talking to him that UF pushed for a commitment.

1/22 Update: Hansen was offered by Florida while on his official visit. We are likely on a commitment watch for Sunday or not long afterward.

1/23 Update: As predicted, Hansen committed to Florida.

1/24 Update: Arlis Boardingham‍ has narrowed his list to a final two of Florida and Oregon.

1/29 Update: Michael Trigg announced he is transferring to Ole Miss.

2/1 Update: Arlis Boardingham‍ told Inside the Gators that he won’t be signing on Wednesday as he struggles on deciding between Florida and Oregon.

Overview

With four prospects already in the class – based on the assumption that Florida doesn't hold on to Jalen Farmer – there isn't a big need for another player along the line unless they can grab a prospect they really like such as Matthew McCoy. I wouldn't expect to see the board grow over the next two weeks.

1/27 Update: Alabama has offered Jalen Farmer‍ and he will visit the Tide this weekend instead of MSU.

Overview

Considering Florida doesn't have any current commitments at the position, and if we're being honest, doesn't have a ton of underclass defensive end talent already on campus, the board currently really doesn't match the needs. Emar’rion Winston was on campus this past weekend, while Kevonte Henry is scheduled to visit next weekend. Pulling kids from the west coast is never a given, and these two targets fit that pattern.

1/20 Update: Florida stopped by the high school of five-star Shemar Stewart‍ to gauge his interest in visiting UF. (WCC Insider: Florida checks in on five-star)

1/22 Update: Added Andrew Savaiinaea‍ to the board after he visited, and was offered by Florida over the weekend.

1/24 Update: Andrew Savaiinaea‍ committed to Florida.

1/27 Update: Kevonte Henry will visit Arizona this weekend rather than Florida.

1/28 Update: @Jack Py">Jack Pyburn‍ will officially visit Florida this weekend.

1/30 Update: @Jack P">Jack Pyburn‍ was offered by Florida and will announce his choice on Tuesday.

Overview

Landing Jamari Lyons and Chris McClellan in the early signing period was a good start for Florida because of the three remaining prospects, Florida isn't in great shape pre-visit with Caden Story (but that could obviously change on the visit), hasn't offered Jayson Jenkins yet and aren't in Ahmad Moten's top five.

1/29 Update: Jayson Jenkins‍ committed to Tennessee

Overview

There is no question that Harold Perkins enjoyed himself during last weekend's official visit to Florida. Honestly, though, it's probably too little too late. It's going to be nearly impossible to pull him away from Texas A&M.

1/24 Update: Perkins decommits from Texas A&M

Overview

Florida has already met their needs at the position, meaning that getting any of the remaining targets would be a bonus, which is a good thing, because none of the three are a given. Jacoby Mathews is hit-or-miss on these scheduled visits, so we’ll see if he makes it in.

our TexAgs guy told us Wednesday that talking to some people there in the Lone Star State, Clemson, Oregon, and USC are all ahead of Florida for Khamai Terrell

Then, Gentry Williams himself told us that though he is committed to Oklahoma, Florida is one of his final four. Can UF get him on campus next weekend is the question?

1/25 Update: From his tweet, it appears as though Gentry Williams is solid in his pledge to Oklahoma.

1/28 Update: Commit Miguel Mitchell‍ told ITG that three Florida coaches, Billy Napier, Corey Raymond, and Patrick Toney, visited with him on Wednesday. No other coaches have been in and he doesn’t plan to visit anywhere this weekend he is 100% Orange & Blue.
