Powell (Tn.) five-star defensive tackle Walter Nolen made a bit of a splash in late August when he released an updated top three that saw Georgia replace Florida from his prior list of favorites.
That meant his Saturday unofficial visit to Florida took on an added sense of urgency.
According to Nolen's father, Walter Nolen Sr., despite being dropped, the Florida staff continued to build on their relationship with the No. 1 ranked prospect in the nation according to the 247 Sports Composite.
"He explained to them that they were still alive, just not in the three that he was feeling the most at that time," explained Mr. Nolen. "They said they would continue to recruit him just like all the other schools that weren't in the top three."
The family had a chance to meet with the Florida coaching staff after the game and judging by his post-game tweet, the visit made a positive impression.

Nolen's next two official visits are set to Texas A&M (10/9) and Alabama (11/6).
The Inside Scoop: Obviously, it wasn't optimal for Florida to be dropped from his top three a month ago, but as Inside the Gators pointed out at the time, it was his third leaderboard in six weeks and his recruiting process was far from over. It sounds like UF made up some ground on Saturday, but now they'll need to get him back on campus for a game again (perhaps the Florida State weekend), to continue to remain in the hunt.
