Weekend Visitor Countdown: #3 Weekend visit will give Florida a chance to reappear on list

This weekend Florida will have their biggest recruiting weekend of the year when Alabama comes calling.

This week Inside the Gators will countdown who we believe are the five most important prospects who are scheduled to be in the Swamp on Saturday.

#3 Walter Nolen‍ ‍ ‍‍

  • Position: Defensive Tackle
  • Size: 6-foot-4, 325-pounds
  • Hometown: Powell (Tn.)

Competition: Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Texas A&M

He's Included Because: This is easy enough, there’s no doubt about who is the consensus top dog in this class, with every service placing Nolen in their top four. Add in the fact that he plays the coveted defensive tackle position, and he is as close to a must-have as Florida has been involved with over the last several cycles.

The Bottom Line: After appearing on all three of Nolen’s previous leaderboard lists, Florida was replaced in his latest top three by Georgia because we were told that the Gators' recruiting efforts waned a bit in August as Georgia picked up the pace. However, as Inside the Gators stated then, don’t find a ledge to jump off of just yet, his list is ever-changing. The Gators getting him on campus for this weekend should only help their standing. Then again, UF still has to withstand official visit weekends at Alabama, Texas A&M, Tennessee and likely Georgia.
