Weekend Visitor Countdown: #4 Can Florida make a move for in-state target

This weekend Florida will have their biggest recruiting weekend of the year when Alabama comes calling.

This week Inside the Gators will countdown who we believe are the five most important prospects who are scheduled to be in the Swamp on Saturday.

#4 Jaheim Singletary‍ ‍‍

  • Position: Cornerback
  • Size: 6-foot-2, 170-pounds
  • Hometown: Jacksonville (Fla.) Riverside

Competition: Georgia and Miami

He's Included Because: Much the same as Julian Humphrey at No. 5, though cornerback isn’t a great need numbers-wise, there’s always a need to add cornerbacks in the pass-happy college game. An added bonus here would be adding an in-state prospect in what is to this point looking like a brutal cycle in the Sunshine State for the Gators.

The Bottom Line:  The first hurdle for Florida to clear is to actually get Singletary on campus. He was scheduled to be at the Summer Kickoff on June 1, but didn't make it in. He did visit a couple of weeks later. Then, he was scheduled to visit two weeks ago for the Gators’ season opener against Florida Atlantic, but he didn't make it in. Perhaps the third time will be a charm. After getting him on campus, UF will need to work on making up ground against UGA and UM.
