At 6-foot-6, 290-pounds, and quick, Christopher Thomas is the prototypical defensive tackle. The three-star prospect is a Florida boy through and through who wanted to stay in-state to play college football.
Thomas is quite funny and excited to early enroll at UF. Inside the Gators gives you an inside look at the kind of player, as well as the kind of person he is in this edition of Getting to Know.
Take us through the process that led to your commitment. What was that experience like for you?
“It was kinda hard because I had so many people in my ear telling me where to go. But the decision wasn’t really hard because there’s no school in the country like Florida. That’s why I’m going there.”
Which school came in second for you?
“Florida State, because it’s close to home.”
Do you have an interesting story about Dan Mullen that you can tell me?
“When I first met him at the game, he started dancing with all the players, and I had never seen a coach do that besides my high school coach.”
What would you say are some of your greatest strengths as a football player?
“My biggest strength is my speed, for a guy my size. Don’t nobody move like me.”
Who is the prospect that you have talked to the most from the Class of 2021?
“We’re all in a group chat, so I talk to all of them.”

What would be your first purchase if you got drafted in the first round of the NFL Draft?
“It’s probably going to be a Hellcat.”
What is one item that you cannot live without it? Why?
“My game (Xbox). Every time I go to a different city, I take my game with me.”
Who has been the biggest role model for you in your life? Why?
”My mama, because she’s made so many sacrifices without ever showing anyone what she goes through. The way she overcomes adversity is something I’ve never seen. So I would have to say my mama.”
What are your favorite types of music? Do you have a favorite artist or song?
“My favorite music is rap, and my favorite artist right now would have to be Rylo Rodriguez.”
What is your favorite movie?
“My favorite movie is a movie called Juice.”
If you could meet one person in the world, who would that be?
If you a chance to go on a dream date, who would it be with?
“[Actress] Storm Reid. She’ll only be like two years older than me when I’m in the league.”
Where do you see yourself five years from now?
“I see myself in the NFL.”
What are three things on your bucket list?
“Swimming with dolphins.”
What is one thing about you that the Gator Nation would be surprised to find out about?
“I don’t listen to rap music all of the time. If it’s not rap, I listen to Disclosure or Fun and Fun.”
