Florida moves into top four after GGGO visit

Pinellas Park (Fla.) running back Lawrance Toafili‍ has the Florida Gators right in the thick of the race for his services following his Saturday visit to Gainesville for the Great Gator Grill Out.

“It was cool,” Toafili told Inside the Gators. “I had more one on one time with coaches.”

While the four-star revealed he is only beginning to form a relationship with running backs coach Greg Knox, who he called “a good person in and out of football,” Toafili’s bond is only getting stronger with another Gators’ staff member.

“C-Rob is my dude,” the 2020 prospect said of Florida linebackers coach Christian Robinson. “We have a tight relationship and we’re just gonna keep it going.”

Florida State was said to be the 6-foot, 180-pounder’s landing spot not too long ago. However, Toafili revealed the Noles are no longer in the driver’s seat – nobody is.

“My top schools right now are Florida, Florida State, Ohio State, and Auburn. I’m probably gonna drop a top five, take all my officials, then make a decision.”

However, the junior played coy when it came to when that decision might come.

“I have no timeline,” he said. “Whenever it happens, it happens.”

Toafili is the No. 164 ranked prospect on the 247 Composite.
