Fraziars headed back to Gainesville during turbulent time

Despite all of the recent drama surrounding its football program, there is no place four-star Dunnellon (Fla.) wide receiver Jaquavion Fraziars‍ would rather be committed to than Florida.

“I’ve gotten this question a lot,” Fraziars told Inside the Gators when asked if the aforementioned drama – which includes arrests, decommitments and transfers – made any impact on his decision to attend Florida. “I’m still solid. The drama goes in one ear and out the other for me.”

The 6-foot-4 180-pound junior will make the short trip to Gainesville this weekend for the secnod annual Great Gator Grill Out. While there will be ribs, beans, and mac-and-cheese galore for the top of Florida’s board to munch on, Fraizars has his sights set more on the experience.

“It feels good to be back home and chop it up with the boys. It’s been awhile and I think it’ll be fun,” said the No. 189 rated prospect on the 247 Composite

It is not out of the question that Fraziars comes to the University of Florida more than some current students. As one of the leaders of the 2020 class, he attended a few spring practices, the Orange and Blue Game, and both Junior Days to-date, just to name a few of his trips. While  Florida has suffered a serious blow to its 2021 class, Fraziars speaks highly of the camaraderie among 2020 commits.

He believes this weekend’s Grill Out is sure to be a great one.

“I really don’t know what to expect this weekend, but the food is always good so I know I’ll like it,” he admitted. “[I’m most excited] to laugh and have fun with the other recruits and commits. It’s always a movie when we’re around each other.”

The Great Gator Grill Out is an invite-only event with a very finite number of invitations sent out. It serves as an opportunity for the Gators’ most sought after recruits and commits to meet each other and also get some one on one time with the coaching staff. Not that communication is an issue, as far as Fraizars is concerned.

“Me and [Dan] Mullen talk on a daily basis and it’s really cool to know that I’ve committed to a university and they’re still the school coming at me the hardest.”
