Four-star offensive tackle William Harrod visited the Florida Gators for the first time ever during their season opener and quickly committed to the Orange and Blue. The 6-foot-5, 312-pound tackle is an ideal prototype for what Dan Mullen and John Hevesy wish to build along the line.
Earlier this week, those two visited the Fort Washington (M.D.) product and spoke to him about what to expect when he enrolls at the University of Florida.
“Coach Mullen and coach Hevesy came by,” said Harrod. “Just be ready to work, talked about the Gators.”
Entering the season Hevesy was Florida’s the third offensive line coach in as many years and question marks surrounded this unit. However, as the season progressed, the offensive line became one of the strongest units on the team. Harrod discussed the vast improvement.
“I was just really impressed how he came in and got this o-line together. He had a great message and he’s a great coach and knows how to coach guys up.”
Harrod informed Inside the Gators he’ll be signing in December and early enrolling in January and no other schools will be coming for an in-home visit.
arrod spoke about why he decided to early enroll and what he’s looking forward to the most in his freshman season.
“Just to get a head start and not fall to far behind. I want to get a feel early. I’m looking forward to getting accustomed to the playbook, developing and getting to work.”
