THIS WEEK ONLY!
Despite having over two full years until he can actually sign with Florida, Ocala (Fla.) Vanguard 2021 four-star receiver Trevonte Rucker made his commitment to the Gators official on Monday afternoon.
This is now two commitments since No. 11 Florida’s dominating win over in-state rival Florida State.
Shortly after Rucker’s announcement, he spoke with Inside the Gators about his decision making.
“It’s how Dan Mullen is spreading the ball around to different receivers and how everything is going up there. He had receivers getting the ball, he had a coach new staffing and everything,” explained Rucker. “I just like it.”
The 6-foot, 155-pound shifty receiver noted he has a tremendous relationship with coach Mullen and receivers coach Billy Gonzalez.

The Vanguard High School native resides roughly an hour away from the University of Florida campus, allowing him to attend games in The Swamp frequently this season. Rucker talks about the atmosphere The Swamp provides.
“I made it to plenty of them. Man, The Swamp is the best place I've ever been before.”
Rucker is all over the place on the field for his high school. Whether it’s at the wildcat position, receiver or cornerback slot he’s consistently making plays on the field. Rucker discussed where Mullen envisions him on the offense side of the ball.
“They see me in the slot, basically a Percy Harvin role.”
The 2021 commit has plenty of time to perfect his craft until his college days arrive and he spoke about which areas he’ll be working on for the next few years.
“My speed, route running, working on my hands and remaining humble.”
2021 commit Kamar Wilcoxson has been tweeting all Monday morning about a surprise for Gator nation. Well, that surprise was Rucker committing the Gators.
Rucker spoke about his relationship with Wilcoxson.
“We got a good relationship. Them boys hit me up all the time.”
Rucker is listed as a four-star prospect and the 11th ranked receiver in the 2021 class according to 247sports. Rucker becomes the third pledge in this class.
