Per UF SID Denver Parler, G Kyle Loften’s injury status is listed as day-to-day

Teams split up between forwards/centers and guards. Guards working on cuts, quick passes and three-pointers. F/C working on screens, passes into the paint and posting up.

Castleton, as always, looked good. Alex Fudge is certainly every bit of 6-9 and might be taller if I’m being honest.

Fr. Denzel Aberdeen can fly. Nice dunks while cutting. Alex Klatsky looked efficient from deep.

Second set of drills. Team split into two groups.

One group worked on getting off screens and on-ball defense. Second group worked on boxing out after free throws. No major standouts as it was basic drills and Golden seemed pleased.

Some Exactech Arena news: it looks like they’re in the process of moving the TV cameras to the other side.

In the past, the camera faced the Center Court Club and only showed the heads of the student section. Now, it looks like it’ll face the students.

Important attendees: Scott Stricklin and Sean Kelley are here.

Note: Klatsky started but was subbed for May, Jitoboh subbed in for Castleton. G Riley Kugel came in for Reeves.

Quick bucket by CJ Felder. A couple fouls on shots early on, one by Fudge and other by Szymczyk on attempted blocked shots.

      Team blue is up 6-2

Really impressive possession by Aberdeen. Missed 3, but able to get the offensive board and drive in to draw a foul. Hit both free throws

My oh my Colin Castleton. Posted up against Szymczyk with shot clock winding down, fade away jump shot and fouled for the and-one. Missed the FT, but impressive nonetheless

Really good back-to-back plays by Lane. Drove in and hit a floater above Jones. Really impressive offensive arsenal. On the defensive end, Jones cut by him but it was knocked away by Lane.

Alex Fudge and Colin Castleton could be a great dynamic duo on offense.

Fudge used his length and size to drive inside and hit Castleton near the basket, Castleton fouled by Aberdeen and another and-one.

This team needs some work defensive rebounding, though. Multiple offensive boards because of guys not looking or the offensive player sneaking past.

Niels Lane has looked much improved since the end of last season

Blue team won that portion 10-4.

Teams now working on plays on air.

On air, miscommunication between Lane and Felder. Lane tried to bounce pass to a cutting Felder, pass to far ahead and Felder wasn’t paying attention.

“Run it again, got to hit those passes, there’s no defense out here.” – Golden

Alex Fudge is my player to watch this season.

Size of a forward, length of a center, speed and athleticism of a guard. Had a nice put back after a Castleton miss followed by an alley-oop dunk

Despite some of the hype with the individual players, this team still has a lot of work to do.

In a five-on-zero drill practicing plays, Fudge committed an inadvertent travel followed by Aberdeen failing to cut.

Following possession, Lane and Jitoboh nearly collided while cutting.

No yelling from coaches, however. Alex Klatsky and the coaches began clapping to get the team back in it.

Back to five-on-five half court running the plays they just practiced. Same teams as before.

Castleton kicks off the scoring with a floater over Szymczyk.

      Might I add, it’s make it-take it.

Fudge hits a three and Blue is up 5-0 just like that

Fudge drives in, Felder blocks it from behind but ref calls a foul.

“Terrible call ref!” Felder says, and trash-talking ensues.

True-FR Denzel Aberdeen with great on-ball defense. Not letting Jr. Bonham by him at all.

Szymczyk struggling with fouls underneath the basket. His third of the practice

      Cam Parker
      ITG Staff

However, he makes up for it, teaming up with Lane for a big turnover on a double team. Jitoboh couldn’t get a screen set and they trapped.

Felder used all of his size against Reeves to fight inside, but good job by Reeves to force a short shot. Bend but don’t break, kinda like the Gator defense yesterday

Cut and slam for Riley Kugel. If Fudge wasn’t 6-9, they look exactly the same play style-wise. Kugel is at 6-5.

Trey Bonham might be the most true-PG Florida’s had since Nembhard. Incredible bounce-pass from past the three-point line to Castleton for the layup. In traffic, too.

This is a not-at-all-needed/way too early starting lineup projection for no reason *reflects Lofton and Richard being out with injuries*

      PG – Bonham
      G – Reeves
      G – Lane
      F – Fudge
      F – Castleton

Depending on how Lofton and Richard look, they could take a guard spot and bounce either Bonham or Lane.

Really high on Riley Kugel. Hit a step-back three at the buzzer with a defender in his face. Called bank on his shot. He’s looked good today, too, with a couple nice shots.

Riley Kugel again. This time driving in, two defenders on him, lays it in while drawing the foul.

Golden had him running point on that possession, even with Reeves and Jones on his team, and he commanded that possession

Good lord, I wish we were allowed to film what just happened.

Alex Fudge with a reverse one-hand slam in the face of CJ Felder, and Felder fell down.

Practice had to stop for a brief moment.

Jitoboh had probably the best reaction.

“That boy got to sit down. Got to take him out the game after that one.”

    • #22746
      Cam Parker
      ITG Staff

“CJ mad, he gonna shoot it after that one.” – Jitoboh.

Felder did shoot it after Fudge fell down, but missed

      ITG Staff

Szymczyk makes a nice play inside, a change from the previous plays where he’s been called for fouls.

Pokes the ball out and forces a turnover

      ITG Staff

      Steph Curry or Colin Castleton?

Castleton hits a three in the face of Szymczyk to end the drill. Nothing but net
