Some observations from today:

RB Cam Carrol was in a black jersey and was not participating in any drills during the open portion.

S Kamari Wilson was in a black jersey but was a participant in drills.

CB Devin Moore, S Aaron Gates, DB Jaydon Hill (blue jersey), CB Ethan Pouncey, WR Zak Sedaros and S Cahron Rackley were off to the side working on some stretching and coordination drills.

[Cam Parker]

OL and DL were in the indoor, so we didn’t get to see much of them.

New TE coach Russ Callaway is certainly animated. Gets hyped quickly and not afraid to let his voice be heard.

TE Dante Zanders looks leaner and quicker as a result of his weight loss. A nice acrobatic catch on a couple low/bad throws.

Jack Miller III struggled on deep throws with multiple overthrows. Max Brown is still throwing with a sidearm but has a nice zip. Mertz is definitely the most polished passer of the group.

Andy Jean had some nice routes and catches in stride, but did have some cramping issues.

Aidan Mizell is about as fast as they come. Took the last rep of the receivers and earned praise from teammates and coaches for his speed.

DBs and LBs were working together on coverage assignments (not really allowed to film). Jaden Robinson needed help a few times.

Shemar James and Teradja Mitchell were working together while Robinson and Deuce Spurlock were together.

There were a few times where Miguel Mitchell was playing up at the line of scrimmage. I said it in my position and depth chart previews, don’t be surprised if he splits time as safety and STAR in the fall.

I will add this – there’s something about Andy Jean that is hard to ignore. The kid runs about as clean routes as they come, has nice hands and overall smart player.

Would not be surprised one bit if he finds his way into the starting lineup.

That being said, I’m super excited for when Eugene Wilson gets on campus. This receivers room reminds me so much of Cleveland, Hammond and Swain, but this new group might be better honestly. We shall see.

That being said, will try to get more of the linemen on Thursday depending on where they’re practicing. Obviously, was not able to see who was a participant or not.
