Now that… that’s quality offense. Kugel easily could have taken a contested floater there, which he may have done earlier in the season, but… he’s grown. Makes a move to the rim and finds the open man. A few hockey assists later off of that… and Will Richard knocks down the three.

Will Richard and Myreon Jones have been hounds defensively to start tonight. It won’t show up on the stat sheet, but they’ve been huge on that end of the floor for the Gators so far.

Incredibly strong move by potentially the, frame-for-frame, skinniest guy on the court. I love seeing Fudge get to the rim because he really does have such a soft touch.

Words can’t do justice to how well the Gators have been defensively through the first seven minutes here. Tennessee’s 0-5 with three turnovers in the last 5+ minutes. Couldn’t have dreamt up a better beginning to this game for Florida.
17-4 start for the Orange & Blue at the second timeout.

I know he made it, but that’s not the shot anyone should want Reeves taking. He’s gotta take those corner threes when they are there for him. I truly believe that he is the best pure shooter this team has — just tends to make the game harder for himself than it has to be at times.

That’s a fantastic shot by Lofton. Missed it, but those are good shots for this Florida offense against that Tennessee defense. Came off the high screen, big dropped and guard went under… leaves Lofton wide open for a middy.

Myreon Jones man… he’s just been so freakin’ great for this team as of late. Comes off the Castleton screen, takes a couple of read-dribbles as he makes his way into the paint, looks off the big and puts up the soft float. Vet move by the, well, vet.

Let’s be real. You didn’t really expect that lead to sustain and/or grow throughout the rest of this game. Now, it’s about punching back. It’s about playing tough and getting into the halftime locker room with some momentum. This thing is FAR from over. Gators in a great spot.

Beautiful offense right out of the gate for Florida. Colin finds Jones on the baseline pass-cut, and Jones finds Lofton wide open in the corner right in front of the student section. He knocks it down and this place erupts.

Their offense has been struggling here through the first 7 minutes of the second half. But, thankfully, the Florida defense is continuing to step up. That’s how they’ve retained a three point lead despite having not scored in over 5 minutes.

An assistant coach for the Gators just watched that play back on an iPad, went to Golden and told him the Tennessee shooter kicked his foot out. Golden immediately yelled to the ref on the other side of the court and did a “kicking his foot out” motion. Not happy with the call.

This place is a damn madhouse. Gators on a 7-0 run over the last 1:16 and now lead 49-46 with 7:25 remaining. What a bounce-back by a Florida team who appeared to be slowly flailing for a bit there. We’re about to find out how good this group can really be.
