Myreon Jones, who’s usually one of the best defenders on this team,. just fell for a pump fake 30 feet out. Probably not the best idea.

I see what Golden’s doing here, and it’s smart. He’s putting the ball in Jay’s hands at the top and having his guards run an off-ball action under the hoop. One comes up to a DHO with Jitoboh while the other goes corner. Off the DHO, it’s a regular PnR with a baseline cut from the strong-side corner. That posession, it worked to a tee. But Myreon’s gotta take the layup. Or, if it is gonna be an extra pass, Kugel’s gotta cut there rather than just sit in the corner.
Scheme is solid, execution needs to be cleaned up a bit. Just take the open shot.

Some very interesting substitution notes:
1) Aberdeen seems to have taken over Bonham’s spot in the rotation. Maybe a sign of a bigger role to come for the current-freshman next season?
2) Fudge came in at center before Szymczyk. Has Shimmy lost Golden’s trust? Fudge is a pretty thin guy to be guarding KJ Williams.

Reeves has such a quick first step that, paired with those long strides, he can get to the rim in a hurry. Wish we’d see it more often.

I couldn’t care less that Aberdeen missed the lay. He went to the hole between defenders confidently and got a good look. I LOVE THAT. His confidence increasing = hope for the Gators next season and beyond increasing.

Richard knocked down the 3 and immediately turned to Golden, clapping and hyping him up. These guys’ relationship is real. You can just tell Will likes playing for a guy like Golden and Golden likes coaching a guy like Will.
